I have a Pacific Energy - MODEL PACIFIC WOOD INSERT DESIGN-D that I purchased and installed in the fall of 2007. It has worked well and have been happy with the heat output. I had decided to clean the insert today, inside and out. After I had ran the brush down the stainless steel liner, I proceeded to clean the firebox. I removed the baffle like I do yearly. But this time the FLAME shield was sitting on top of the baffle. Is this easily repaired? How is it fastened? Any ideas? I included the parts breakdown of the insert. It's #18 FLAME SHIELD.

thanks begreen. That looks like an easy fix.

Use either a S.S. or class 8 replacement bolt, washer & nut. I suggest tryng never seize on the threads also.

And thanks Hogwildz I got a SS bolt/nut combo. The shield sits forward and only covers the front 1/4 of the stove pipe hole since the fastening point is on the front part of the stove pipe hole. . I'm assuming this also aids in the air wash past the door glass that helps keep it clean.
