Way too early IMHO. My stove is still unplugged and the stat is "OFF". I'll think of pluggin it in come October, Say around the 15th. Or when the boss starts swingin the fryin pan! ;sick

Here's to hoping you are right.....I have a feeling mother nature is going to bite back this year....I bet I have a sept burn

WOW, it was chilly this am, but still everything is plugged for moisture and unplugged from electric. Hopefully staying that way for a few more months

Came down stairs this morning and the Harman was smiling on low mode. Dropped to 31* overnight.

Good bye oil man.

Ugh...not ready for that.. Where do you live that is it 31 degrees in August? Alaska? Canada?

Well I don't know what the maples are trying to tell me but the swamp ones turned quickly and are dropping their leaves, and several non swamp ones are also turning.

Birches in my yard started dropping this past week as well. Its pretty normal, but it is also signaling the beginning of end of summer :(

Love the crisp cool air in fall. Windows open and great for sleeping! Stove wont be on until October.

OK you 2, You can keep that stuff(being nice) up north! We still got some serious bass fishing to do yet.

Fairbanks, Alaska. I had the stove left on Auto, first time it turned on by itself. Weather is suppose to be 30-40's at night, and 50-60's during day.

I turned it down to 55 for room temp, just wanted to see it in action.

First burn ahhhhhhhhh :)

Little nippy here on the motorcycle in shorts at 4:20 this morning. Brrrrrrrrrrrisk :)

Ahhh, I should have looked before posting! If I had them temps, Most likely my stove would be on as well! Stay warm!

Funny how the veteran burners dont want to even THINK about burning yet, while the newbies like us are just itching to fire our stove up!!! This will be our first full winter of burning....We are so looking forward to the smell of wood smoke in the air.....When I first met Debbye, she dreaded winter coming...Now we are like a couple of little kids......Cant wait!! Bought a ton of greene teams based on the reccomendations here, cant wait to try 'em!

Well us older folk who have seen many a winter come and go would rather not push the seasons any. I've shoveled many a dump truck load of partly cloudy, it ain't fun.

I had my stove going this afternoon doing a test burn for the new OAK. I was enjoying the fire a lot- right up until I heard the AC kick on.!!!

Trust me, Its not the stove I'm fightin off. I'll actually be happy to see the fire again! Not to mention knowing we'll be warm and toasty! The stove is actually what helps me get through and gives me something to look forward to. Just old man winter seems to get tougher the older I get. So for now, I'll be content to see fire in my lil pit outback. Having a cold beverage is about all the cold I need right now! ::-)

Im ready... We have had a hot and dry summer....

Wood for this year is 2 summers old, lots and lots of pellets stacked! ! Come on Winter!!! Never been more ready in my life!

It was back on again, and this time it looks like it will be staying on -_- High mid 50's Low low 30's -_-. It is heating our upstairs too well though! We have a open stairwell, and it looks like we might have to hang up a curtain to keep some hot air downstairs.
