Have posted in the pricing section but thought I would update here . Green Supreme at Lowes in NH and eastern MA is now $ 209/ton (Seabrook and Danvers). The "good" news is that the price per bag equals the ton price when purchasing less than a ton. That means the 10 percent coupons are now back in play since the contractors discount has been removed for now. I made my stash bigger today using a coupon and got them for $188/ton. I would suggest not dragging your feet much longer. The Seabrook store was dead when I got there today at 2:30pm. The staff was very chatty. They know that HD is selling GS at $209. The Lowes price was $219 for one day and then changed to the $209 today. My pallets were stamped as being bagged in Jaffrey. Consider yourselves advised.

I ordered my 4 tons of Green Sumpremes from the Rochester NH lowes last week at 188 a ton minus the additional 5% for using a lowes card, being delivered the 28th. And I know they tell you you can't stack discounts, but I brought my wife along who "always" gets her way. IF you complain loud enough.....they cave.

Do you know if there's any quality difference between manufacturing plants? I just recently ordered 4 tons of GS from a Home Depot in NEPA for the same $. Was the manufacturing plant label affixed or stamped on the green ton cover/bag?

The label was affixed to the wrapped ton inside the clear wrap but outside the greenish "cover" bag.

Thanks much! I picked up 20 or so bags last season at Lowes and was very pleased with the burn. I went through 4 tons of Hamers last season, but was not thrilled with all the fines I had to sift from the bags. This season, Hamers increased $ again so I decided to roll the dice with GS. I've read mixed reviews on the GS so I am wondering if it's a manufacturing plant issue...NH vs. NY?

Mine does too but I didn't bring her with me. The $188 is a great deal no matter how you slice it. They were taking a pretty hard stance on the "contractor price" thing so I waited it out rather than fight with them. Unless your stove is really finicky, most of us can burn these GS. They are a decent quality pellet...certainly not the best, but better than a lot of locally available junk pellets here in New England.

They were $219 / ton at the lowes in epping nh last night, they also had Maines Choice for the same price. We picked up three ton of green supreme a few weeks back at $188; all three tons were manufactured in jaffrey. Not sure on the validity but we recieved a list of about 50 brands, from a dealer of pwi or oakies (dont remember). The list was supposedly put together by a third party and measured ash and burn temp for all brands. The list indicated that newp out of jaffrey was superior to the schuyler on both ash and burn temp.

Most likely that list contained the reviews of our very own JTakeman....

Anyone find Green Team in the Lowes in Dedham, Plainville, Framingham area for under $279/ton? Or are there any other stores that carry Green team. Used them last year, loved them, they were $189/ton from Lowe's in Dedham. So far this year haven't been able to find them for a decent price.

4.38$ a bag in sanford, me.

Aren't the GS the same as NEWP? I've never burned either but I've had to do a lot of travelling in northern Maine this summer and stopped at 2 stove shops that told me people in their area love them if they come out of Jaffrey. That kinda surprised me because I haven't heard much good about then on here.

I highly doubt that price with happen this year....

I picked up 8 tons of Greene Team from the local Lowe's at $188/ton before the 10% military discount.

Yeah, I know that Mike and was tempted to comment at the time you scored it. I truly believe that someone made a mistake when selling you those at that price and you are the benefactor. I haven't seen a single post since then that matched the price you got on those GTs. They have been a consistent $274 ton throughout New England (at Lowes) for weeks. JMHO

the green team pellets at lowes in windham maine were 275 i was just there the other night.

I can't help but to laugh when I call Lowes, first when I called late last week they had Greene Teams. Called Saturday to double check and they had Cheat River. Now yesterday the had Great American. :shaking head:
Wtf do they really have......lol

The GTs were 188 at all Lowes in SE CT. I got em for 188 also. But I'm just just a Veteran and don't command a 10% off.

Fair enough then...I stand corrected but still haven't seen that price in ME, NH, or MA.

Last fall Lowes was trying to get more for the Greene Teams Platinums. They had Greene Team and Green Supreme's for $196/ton and were askin $279/ton fro the GT-P.

Are they trying this again?

IIRC, the Seabrook store told me they had the GT-Ps They are the aforementioned $274.

Do they even stock Green Supremes or anything else in the Lowes where people are getting them for 188 a ton? Maybe thats all they have down there so thats what they sell them at. Up here in NH GT's are a big money pellet according to lowes, for the same price I can get Okies or Vermonts.

I sent an email to Robbie at GT letting him know that you guys in Northern New England were seeing prices at Lowes ~$275/ton, while in Southern New England I got them on sale at $188/ton. Apparently Lowes gave GT's their own SKU in Northern New England (MA, VT, NH, ME) and they have put the price up while keeping the other brands at the lower prices we have seen. Down here the Lowes still only has 1 SKU for all of the brands they stock.

Robbie said that they had contacted Lowes about the price discrepancy between the 2 regions and that Lowes was working to fix it in Northern NE. So those of you up there may want to hold tight and keep checking to see if/when the pricing is adjusted. If you already purchased them at the higher price then check for the price reduction and go back to get the difference refunded.

Good luck.

Thanks for that info Mike, that is helpful. I would suspect that if Lowes is selling the GTs at the higher price and they arent sitting on them, there would be no real urgency to lowering the price. There are enough of us vultures up here waiting...we might actually crash into each other in the parking lot if the price drop actually happens.

I contacted Robbie about this last year when the price in Maine jumped up after GT introduced their Platinum pellets. Robbie actually called me and we had a phone conversation about this. He pretty much told me that GT doesn't have any input into what price Lowes sells their pellets for and pretty much blamed it all on freight costs.
