I'm looking into buying a Harman P68 and was wondering if $2500 was a good deal for a used stove.

Great stove, price seems a little steep, unless that is installed with piping:cool:

The stove is about two years old and it would be a private sale.

I don't think I'd jump on it for that price. $1200 to $1500 depending on it's age, is what I would pay.

they go about 3500 - 3600 new..

I would buy for $1,800, only 2 years? Check plate to see when manufactured.

I bought a P68 used its 4yrs old. Roadking is right on with new pricing just saw the 68 at a local fair, vendor had a 68 set up with price on it of 3,498 (that was with a 10% off) The thing you need to keep in mind when pricing these out is what options does it have? For example the trim kit runs about $340 including the artwork (I might be off just a little on prices trying to remember) Heat shields about another $100, larger hopper $250. So the base stove could be $3,400 with options it could be $4,100. It seems its also hard to find a 68 I don't see many listed for sale in my area so if you come accross a deal on one you might want to grab it. From what I've seen the list used for 1,800 - 2,600 on avg. CT/NY/MA area. 2yrs old is also pretty new IMHO

the lady wont move off of 2600 says thats what she owes on it., oh well i will move on and find something else. i offered her 1900 cash and could be there first thing in the morning. my local harman dealer said it would be worth about half price being two years old.

I hope you left her your number, as she will be calling you back.

Your price seems fair. I see a lot of them listed in the 2-2500 range but there always negotiation. If I list something for 2500 that means 2000 cash will take it usually.

"the lady wont move off of 2600 says that's what she owes on it" Only paid off $1,00 in 2 years? Must be a high interest financing, or cc and making min payments! Tell her to try selling a car for what she owes instead of what it is worth.

thats pretty much what i was thinking. but i didnt want to be a ass about it.

well, its a sale, and negotiation comes in at some point, but if she wont move, hey, no biggie, you just dont buy it from her.........if she's unwilling to move to a more mutually agreeable offer, I guess its just "thanks, but no thanks......here's my number if you change our mind....good day", or somesuch.......
