That beautiful delivery truck pulled up this morning at 8:30am with 10 tones of pellet goodness.

It took us a little over 4 and a half hours, but with the help of a make-shift slide, we got it all squirreled away in the basement, where the pellets are relaxing with the dehumidifier in a humidity controlled environment that any cigar would be jealous of. Pic below!

That's so true! That red chair is a really nice chair that we picked up from an estate auction but didn't go with anything in the house, thus it ended up in the basement. After I finished stacking the pellets, disassembled the slide, and switched on the dehumidifier, I sat down in that chair and thought to myself "It's going to be a warm cozy winter in this house".

damn! i need a comfy chair in my bunker.

We've used Pellet Chow for the last two Winters and have been happy with the results. I'm sure we won't need all 10 tones, but it's nice to know it's there if we need it, and I'm sure the price will go up from the $209 we bought each of them for.

It's obvious that you're not affilcted with the OCD disease that some of us are suffering from. All my bags have to be right side up and face the same way.

'bout time someone got with the program.

Now would be the time to apply to become a member of the Pellet Pig Club.

We need to know all about your commitment to being a true Oinker and your pellet hunting activities.

Them Chows is where its at. I have been burnin' them for a few years and they burn very nice on my stove.

I hereby happily submit my application to the Pellet Pig Club.

We knew that we wanted to get a large store in the basement this year, as I was a little worried when we burned 5.5 tones of our 6 tone stash from last year. My first impulse was to cut out the middle man and call a few pellet manufacturers to see if they would sell me a full truck load at a good price, but none of them would bite. I checked out a few pellet suppliers in my area but none could come close to the $209 I found for Stove Chow, and the $55 delivery fee sealed the deal! I still fully intend to pick a couple of bags of any brand I see around, just to see how they burn.

Pellets are the sole heating for our 2000 sqf home, and I'm happy to say that I only burn the oil furnace twice a year for 20 minutes to make sure it still works. Oh, and I have a generator standing buy to keep my stove going in the event of a power outage. I assure you that I am committed to the "Oink".

Well that is the required application, 1st (IHATEPROPANE) and second (SmokeyTheBear)recommendations, now if another member would care to do the honors of calling the meeting of the hogs (this is a telepathic meeting and usually held in the evening) for consideration of Avalon's application it would be appreciated.

Nice stash! How do I join the pellet pig club? I have had 16Tons of pellets in my hands now. Does that qualify for this club? :) Jay

Well explain to the hogs your piggish behavior, they only want true pigs, not scared of the big bad wolf ones.

There will likely be a meeting in a bit, hogs are very hard to motivate when they don't have their stoves lit and their snouts in a pellet bag err I mean feed bag.

Well I bought 16 Tons last month and had them delivered in a connex. I could not pass up the price for them or how they got delivered so I was piggish and bought the whole load by myself rather than multipal people. ::-)

I agree with the OCD... Give him another year. :)

I will 3rd it.... That is a fine stash of pellets.. Better put some traps and gaurd it well. As us Pigs have a good nose and cant resist! ! :)

Smokey should be awarding some "Oinks" shortly.. I say "yeah" to Joel Craft also..... You PIG!

first stove and first purchase of pellets. I don't have the option to run to the home depot or lowes to buy my pellets. I can only barge mine in during the summer months. So I am crossing my fingers these pellets work. They seem to be working just fine, but to be honest if they don't work well I will never know until I try a different brand. And unless I buy that brand I can't try. It is a little harder living in Remote part of Alaska.

Dexter you can do the honors I was hoping that jtakeman or imacman would pick up the slack. I'll recommend Joel Craft's membership as anyone who is going to go through 16 tons of an untried pellet has my vote as either very persistent or very crazy, both of which are required traits for a true hog.

Avalon and Joel Craft welcome to the Club....

Please make your dues payable to imacman. So that the beer supply, er, um, I mean proper supplies can be stocked at Kinsman stoves!! :)

Please add the following to your Signatures...........

"Proud member of the Pellet Pig Club" OINK OINK!
You pellet pigs should be ashaimed of yourselves" - eernest4- Grand Poobah - Pellet Pig Club

Thank you for inclusion into this prestigious club! I'll do my best to protect my pellets from water, humidity, and the envious hearts of other pigs.

Joel. I'm not sure whether to be more impressed by your insane choice to live in a remote part of Alaska (reachable only be barge in the Summer), or your insane choice to buy 16 tones of unvetted pellets in an untested stove.

Let us know what type of stove you have!

Thanks for allowing me to join this new club.

I love living here in Alaska for now it fits my family well. I did some research on here before I ordered my pellets from the company I did. I heard they will work good in the stove. The next order will be a different brand to see how they do.
I have a Quadrafire Classic Bay 1200. I installed it a few weeks ago, now just sit back and wait for winter to arrive to see how she works.
