I was helping a buddy find a stove and came across this:

http://up.craigslist.org/for/3199072220.html

I went and looked at it personally and thought it was a good deal especially since the man said ALL the pipe and hearth pad went with it. The only reason he wanted it gone was cause he was going with a pellet stove this year. What do you think good deal or not?

Seems fine. Which Quad is it? Can't tell how large the stove is.

The post has been deleted.

If your talking about the Craig's list post I just clicked on it again and went right to it.

This is what I get. "This posting has been deleted by its author."

That's 'cause it's cached in your browser. Go to hit and hit F5 to refresh, and you'll likely see what Dennis saw.

It was a Quad in good shape for $500. If it was a 3100, which is a 2 cu ft stove, that is a fine deal.

Yeah it was a flat top 3100 built in 2000. The fire brick needed replacing but no big deal.

Question though. There is a plate above the reburn tubes and between the plate and top of the stove there is insulation. Is this common? To me it looks like it needs to be replaced as well.

Hi all- Quadrafire had a 3/8" steel baffle plate and 1" cer blanket on their 3100/4300 stoves in the 90's. When the millenium turned over, they moved to ceramic baffles with blankets. The steel baffle was available a couple of years ago (last time I was selling quads) but it had gotten quite expensive (120.00) the blanket will run around 50 bucks. Still well worth replacing 3100's of that vintage tough stoves- I couldn't see the posting either had been deleted. Great buy for 500.00 good luck
