Well as some of you know ive been talking about what wood furnace to purchase when we move into our next house. Thanks to Laynes69 for the most part and his input I bought a Caddy.... But here is the best part, short story to follow lol.

I finally decided that the Caddy will work for the new house. So in talking to my wife ( who knows im a deal searching fool ) she said have you searched craigslist. I said ive searched but nothing is on there right now. I said it looks like we are going to buy brand new. So Monday I sold her 02 civic for $3200, she upgraded to a 2010 Honda Crosstour. I had talked to a local PSG dealer that said the Caddy will cost me $3500 for just the wood furnace with glass door and blower. So last night I got on Craigslist and said hmm maybe I will search "CADDY"..... well 2hrs away there was a company advertising there demo/floor model "PSG Wood/Oil Caddy" for $3200. I was like sounds like a deal I am going to drive there after work and take a look. What I found was a brand new PSG Wood Caddy never had a stick of wood in it.... AND it came with the oil burner. I paid $2800 plus sales tax I dont think I did to bad. Here are the pictures.

Nice find. Have to love Craigslist.

That's one hell of a deal. Are you going to run the oil? It's the same furnace as ours with the blower built into the cabinet. Also it's an earlier one with the stainless steel insulated baffle, the newer ones have the c-cast baffle. The stainless is nice, it won't damage if a log hits it. Hopefully things work out well for you, we like our furnace. They are well built.

The oil is for a back up. Her family is down in MD so once a month she goes and sees her parents or her grampa, thats when it will be used. I talked to her and said its not like our boiler, you need to load the wood gently.

Nice looking trailer BTW!
Love CL, but man is it full of scammers. I bought my boiler on CL and sold my old one too......

You scored yourself a deal. The oil burner kit is over $3,000. Make sure to follow the recommendations on Plenum height, static pressure, oil set up, vent into a 7" chimey or use liner etc.. and it will purr like a kitten. If you have any questions let me know. I work for PSG.

BTW which parts of the US are you from?

Ill send you a message.

You got an amazing deal there!

We are in the process of looking at the Caddy also. We got a price quote from our "local" dealer for $4450 on the wood/oil.

So, count your blessings on the great price you got. Enjoy it.

well our closing date on the new place is either oct 15 or nov 1. Im hoping my work out here in Kansas wraps up in the nest 2 weeks so we can close on the 15th. Because I need a couple days to install the stove and the chimney.

Nice find justanothercub. Good for you. Keep us posted on how it goes. Thanks for sharing the pics and the info. I have found some good deals on craigslist as well. Sometimes I have to stop looking on there though. Always stuff for sale. I spend too much money. ;hm
