I have approximately 17 cords split and stacked! I think the most I've had before was 15 give or take a little.

I still have maybe a cord of ash to stack and a bunch of red oak to split and stack. The ash is buried in the weeds so it will probably stay until fall and the oak will get worked on once it cools off some.

Here are pictures of the current state, I have about a 1/3 cord of hickory tucked away in the shed that's not pictured.

Just AWESOME!
I'm close but not near the BTUs, mostly birch & a few cords of spruce.
Way to go! We know the work involve to get that much wood CSS.
Gotta feel pretty good!

I see you are a member of the straight & square stacks club ;)

rdust, I have to publicly compliment you. Thinking back a couple years and comparing to where you are at now, you have done an awesome job. I hope some day to come pay you a visit and see it first hand. Hey, I haven't yet seen that last addition to the family either.

Hardly a member! You guys can stack, I just toss it up and hope for the best. I'll post another angle of the stacks near my house when I get on the other computer. A few were stacked in 2009 and have a pretty good lean going at this point. The cinder blocks are sinking which isn't helping my cause any!

yes, we are all aware of the work it took to get it
you've been workin

Some cheating along the way! The wood I'm getting from the tree service has helped a bunch! About 3 cords from them so far plus the oak that needs to be split.

Very nice! Love looking at pictures of stacked wood.

Thanks! I agree, someone needs to start the annual "show your stacks off thread".

Anytime you are down this way just let me know. We'd love to have you stop by! Honestly it's your advice(and others) when I first showed up here in 2009 that has made me get ahead and stay ahead. If it wasn't for the good advice of this site I would've been in trouble when I couldn't cut last year due to my back. Even taking a year off I still had around 10 cords after missing a season of cutting. I'm caught up now but only have about 5 well seasoned cords(from 09 and 10) since my stacking area in the back was less than ideal. The other stuff would still burn but it's far less than what I've come to expect.

;lol He hooked me up before and I'm sure he'd do it again! Next time I head out his way I think I'll drop him off some oak since I'm sure he's sick of burning all that ash! ;)

Rdust I am very sorry to inform you that all of that wood will rot before you use it. To ensure it doesn't go to waste I will be happy to take some off your hands!

Seriously, that looks great! Congrats on getting so far ahead, I see a lot of work in those stacks!

Looks like you have the room for another 17!
What are ya waiting for?

Nice work:)

I hate to tell you this, but I think you got a lot more than 17 cord there. By the looks of what I see, you are easily in the 20's somewhere. Did you measure them? Hell, they are perfectly stacked, so you may as well measure the cubic feet and see what you actually have. I'm guessing at least 21 or more......BTW, fantastic work. It feels good to be that far ahead, doesn't it?

Nice stacks, I see you used the stand the pallet on the end method like Pallet Pete, thats what Ive been doing. Where did you get the monster red oak? Hope someone dropped that off, those are back breakers.

Amazing!

It's pretty much spot, the single rows on blocks near the house are a cord a piece(24' long, about 48-50" high and 16" wide)

I was using that method before "Pallet Pete" was! ;) I actually seen LLigetfa using them a few years back and have employed it on some of my stacks.

The oak came from a tree service but I had to load them.(curb side pick up) The biggest of the bunch was 38" or so, it's amazing what a dolly and some ramps into the trailer can do for you to aid with loading. :)

Thanks!

Looking good Rust great work.

Thanks!
