I found a modulating thermostatic valve from taco and was wondering if anyone thinks it could be used as boiler protection it is only 1" but it is a ball valve type and full port it is taco setpoint I series if someone thinks it can be used I'll draw up a pipe diagram

If someone knows more about thermostatic valves as boiler protection and the pipe sizes available please do tell =) At one point I was looking at them because they just make sense.

I don't see why the I-series wouldn't work, but at 1" and the cost I'd go with a non-electric thermostatic valve. Plus if the I-series ever stuck in the bypass position or the motor failed it would make a big boiling mess.
