Just bought a Country Stove and waiting to be installed.

Started looking for pellets and checking pricing but all I can find locally right now is Marthwood "Pennywise" from Menards. They're priced at 4.18 a bag.

I was told that Bear Mountain and Goldenfire are premium pellets but I can't find them anywhere! I looked up the mfr number and called them today. No dealers in or even close to Illlinois is what they told me.

Anybody have some information on Pellet availability and prices in my neck of the woods? I definitely don't want to load up on a subpar pellet, only to have stove and/or burning problems once I get going...not sure how the Marth pellets hold up?

Bear Mountain and Goldenfire are made in Oregon. Not sure, but I imagine they wouldn't ship them that far (Chicago) because of cost. ...Man are your Bears tough!!

Yeah. The dealer installing my stove has both but won't sell me any this year because they buy in bulk pre-season. They told me I could get in on next years order if I wanted to... So I'm looking for pellets for this year.

Anyone know if the Marth Wood (made in Marathon Wisc) is any good? My local Menards has this stuff in stock for 4.16 a bag

Yup. They sure are Monsters this year. The Defense is doing most of the work for Grossman. Heck, there's no way we would have beat the Cardinals without the defense, that's for sure!

Hey Ron.

That's where I bought my stove. They're in Delavan (Warming Trends). They do have some of those brands available, just not the Bear Mtn and Goldenfire. I think she said they have the Pennington, Heartland and Eureka available althought I'm not sure what the per bag price is. They will deliver up to a ton on the day of install. I have no problem picking a brand and paying but I'd hate to get a whole ton of pellets and find out that particular brand doesn't work well in my stove, you know.

So can please help and tell me which would be the best bet for my Country Stove among the Pennington, Heartland and Eureka (I've ruled out Marth)?

Cool. Thanks for the info Ron. Dan just came by today to assess the job and I'm hoping my stove should be installed in the next 2 weeks.

Looks like the Heartlands are the next best choice next to the GoldenFire pellets. I'll have to work out a price with Dan on the delivery
