The two HDs around me offer GS or NC for $209/ton. Second year burner here. Used Turmans, Barefoot and Fireside Ultras last year. Turmans were fantastic. Barefoot ok and Fireside were very good. Turmans now $279, Barefoot $269 no Firesides. Englander multi. Any thoughts?

Green Supreme is the same pellet as NEWP. Middle of the road stuff and shoulders at best IMHO. Nations Choice is rumored(not sure how true) to be a sister pellet to Inferno's But I haven't burned any. I did find some, But because of water damage I didn't give them a full review. I have heard some say they are not too bad and did well for them. Pretty decent heat from what I have been told. I'd still tread lightly with them. I would burn a few bags before I'd buy too many. Your stove being a multifueler should eat them no problem, Its more of will they provide enough heat for you! You have some time yet, Prices don't usually go up at the boxes till spring.

I would still get some good stuff for the cold season. Neither pellet IMHO will crank the heat of the Turmans.

I burned 3 skids of green supreme last year and thought they were good. Decent heat and not too ashy. I want to try out a very good premium pellet. The only premium pellet I've burned are Spruce Points (low ash but not very good heat) and my good 'ol green teams(if you'd call them a supreme pellet) I live right near BTpellet in Bristol and I just cant see paying $295 for a skid of Hammer Hots when I can grab green teams for $192 but I want to try them out. Is it really worth the price hike?

Thanks for the assistance. I have a half pallet of Turmans and half pallet of Firesides left. We have a pretty large area to heat so heat output in the cold season is important. I was really quite surprised at the noticable difference between the heat output of the different pellets I used last year with the Turmans head and shoulders above the others. We'll probably go through 5 - 6 pallets this season so the price difference is pretty significant.
Just an aside, we saved over $3000 last season using the pellet stove vs. the previous year using our propane heating system.

i couldnt agree more with OMV.the okies have skyrocketed on the east coast and they are out of the equation for me at that price.just a couple years ago they were at $275 around these parts and considered the top dog for a softwood.theres seriuos competition now with the vermonts, maine woods and spruce points available to us at $275 and under.i burn about 4 ton a year.i usually get 2 ton of green team at lowes when the price bottoms out and 2 ton of a super premium.this year the super premiums will be cubex at $275 and barefoot at $265.i tried the green supremes last year and didnt care for them.i also have a ton of trebios left over from last year and am looking forward to burning those in my new vistaflame vf55.

HD called me yesterday (Windham, ME) and said that the last 3 trucks of pellets were NEWPs and the next 3 are expected to be NEWPs. They wanted to know if I wanted them instead of the Fireside Ultras I pre-paid for. I told them I'd wait. Really hope the Fireside Ultras come in...

I drove through there on Monday and there were many pallets of FUs there. It did appear as though they all had names on them though.....
