So my 9 year old has become obsessed with learning Mandarin. The book that he ordered came today and he was practicing writing some of the characters. After he was supposed to be in bed, he brings this downstairs and asks if I know what it means:

Of course I had no idea, so he told me: "Dad Loves Wood"
I think he gets it.

Pretty cool.

No idea but sounds like you have a great kid with a future.

Lol! That's great! Sounds like a "Rosetta Stone" may be on the Christmas wish-list this year!

My Mandarin must be getting really rusty. I read that as "cats are tasty".

You kinda wonder with all the younger people getting tats of various Chinese symbols that claim to be 'trust','honor','love','strength; or similar words....Who knows it might actually mean 'szechuan pork' or 'moo shoo duck'.
