I installed my Napoleon 1400 with the minimum 6" clearance for corner installation. Now I'm thinking of upgrading to the 1900 which requires 8" clearance. Any tips or advice on how to do that? I know I can get enough slop to just slide the stove out to get the clearance but I hate to do that and have the pipe going up on an angle. Any other ideas?

Maybe offset the pipe with a pair of 45º elbow back to back?

I would rather try and use a heat shield of sorts. Is there anything that can be mounted directly to the wall that would allow me a 25% reduction in clearance? I've noticed different options that offer a 50% or greater reduction but they all require an air gap which I would like to try and avoid.

You could do a solid, full brick wall behind the stove for a 33% reduction if approved by the local authorities. But the offset is not a bad deal. I had to do when I went from the Castine to the T6. Didn't want to but now it's no big deal and it allowed me to make the swap in a couple hours instead of days.
