Wherever we're parked
Headin out on the Ultra with the HOG Chapter tomorrow morning for a 9-day/8-night tour of the (sorta) southland, at least south of here. Gonna ride (eventually) to Maggie Valley, NC... We'll hit the Tennessee Snake, The Tail o' the Dragon, maybe the Blue Ridge Parkway & whatever else strikes our combined fancies. Gonna put at LEAST 4K on the scoot in the next 9 days & WOO HOO! I'm pumped! If I decide to come home, I'll check back in with you hearth-heads & file an official report, maybe even post some pics/vids. Nite ALL!
"Southbound & down, loaded up & bikin..."

Enjoy and I hope for a safe trip for you all. In the meantime, I'll be setting here oozing jealousy.

Be safe.

Oh to do that just one more time. Have a great time for me.

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down. Catch ya on the backside biker. And don't eat the truck stop chili.

Hit the road Daks and enjoy the ride!

Have a safe trip, brother. Enjoy the ride. Should be some decent riding temps and weather from what I saw. Oh, and yeah, we expect pics! >>

Have a safe and enjoyable ride.

Ride safe Brother, if you get near Pigeon Forge Tenn. next week, "Smokin' in the Smokies" 10th anniversay rally is on there. I am heading out monday a.m. for a week long run around new york state and the Keystone state. Enjoy

Just checking in on the GF's laptop thru a WiFi connect at the Microtel in Maggie Valley.1500+/- mles on the bike so far. We took a couple of routes through WVa (rt50 & rt 219) lemme tell ya they were in great shape & twisty as a mutha...Don't think that have a catchy nickname, so we dubbed them the Tail of the pig... Did the Tail of the Dragon & the Cherohala Skyway yesterday. Sweet rides. The Dragon was all it's reported to be. Did the Great Smoky Mountain Parkway thru Gatlinburg & headed out on Rt 32 which took us back into a more twisty road than the Dragon. 7 miles in the pavement (which was brand new) stopped. We were pretty sure, that further down that dirt road there was a kid on a porch with a banjo, so we took the other option & headed 7 miles back over the twisties. The scary thing was on the ride back, there were no guard rails & to our right was a fairly substantial vertical drop...
We lived thru it, tho, & we're heading for the Outer Banks of NC tomorrow - 480 miles...TTYL!

My butt hurts just thinkin' about it. ;lol Be safe! Rick

Checkin in again...499 miles - mostly in the rain - from Maggie Valley to the Outer Banks. I only hope the sun comes out before we leave. It's really peaceful here...

We had perfect weather until the clouds rolled in last night.

285 miles today. From Kill Devil Hills, NC to Grasonville, MD...High winds - especially on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge - with heavy rains & although we arived safely, the ride beat the crap out of us. Tomorrow we head home...480 miles starting at 0800...Weather looks to be better...Hopefully be there around dinner time...Later.
