So, I had some left over parts from a previous install. Now I'm close to installing my New Harman P43, yea, I decided to upgrade from the P38+. I need some Pelletvent pro parts. I notice every site I go to appears to be owned by the same entity. They all have the exact same prices down to the penny. What gives, no competition anymore? This stuff is not cheap either. I went to HD and the cheaper Dura vent stuff they carry connects to my Pro series pipe, any reason I can't mix and match? I don't think the Pro stuff is worth twice the money. I also love how they take a standard thimble punch a hole in it throw in a few feet of cheap flex for fresh air intake and jack the price up to $ 131 and change for an otherwise $50 wall thimble. What a ripoff. I don't mind paying a fair price for good stuff but this smells if you ask me. Rant over.

No conspiracy, it's called minimum advertised pricing. It happens in a lot of industries. Retailers are only allowed to advertise products above a min price point, or they are penalized in one form or another by the manufacturer/distributor. If you buy from dynamite buys call them for a discount code that will save you some nice coin on duravent.

As far as PVP mating to regular pellet vent I have. No idea

Or better yet call one of the active board members who ownes a stove shop and support they guys who help us all out with problems

I called simpson to ask if their duro vent pro and regular pellet vent were interchangeable and was told no.Something to do with the way they seal.

Also has to do with testing, they have different metal and PVP has welded seems vs. crimped. Call me and I will see what I can do. 330-448-0300

Thanks for the responses guys and and I will call you Eric, and thanks for the number.

I purchased all my 4" PVP form Dynamite Buys .com
Mixture of black and galv. vent pipe for vertical through the roof install.

http://www.dynamitebuys.com/
They had good prices listed (advertized) on their site.
BUT.....
When I called for a question.....They further discounted the prices by quite a lot.

Build a shopping cart list online then call for pricing. You might be surprised.

Shipping was fast (I think 3 days) to my home on Cape Cod.

Not affiliated with them but a really happy customer. Highly recommended.

I agree that Dynamite Buys is a great source for pipe, and prices are very good.....BUT, I try to do business with supporting dealers on this site, and Eric is the man....gives discounts to Hearth members, and he's a Vet....first choice for me.

I'll use Dynamite as a back-up if I needed something quickly that they had but Eric didn't, just like when I first put in my pellet stove and needed a special set of adapters for the 4" ---> 8" conversion from original wood stove pipe. Eric was the one who figured out what I needed (local guy was clueless), and gave me the part numbers KNOWING I was going elsewhere to buy them.....a class act.

I just bought a 90 deg Simpson PVP from my local dealer with tax, cheaper than Dynamite Buys with there discount and free shipping, strange.

Thanks guys. Again there is beer in the fridge along with a mason jar that might need some attention.

Eric

I used ventingpipe.com to get my stuff for the Quad Castile install and saved about $200. I tried using my local stove shop, but they were 20% higher then ventingpipe.com and they were going to tack on the shipping cost of anything they had to order.

I'm all for supporting local business, and 90% of the time I do, but this time I couldn't justify passing up the savings.
