Good morning all is it ok if I leave a splitter outside as long as I cover it

I do mine, but I do spray down anything that might rust with WD before I cover it. Does not seem to have any bad effects.

Thanks pal I will do the same enjoy your Sunday football

I would just be sure to grease the beam first, since the rapid fire might not work as well if it starts to rust up.

That is a splitter under the snow between the wood stacks. This is how it was stored for somewhere around 20 years. Now it is in the barn. I put a cement slab down and then a short piece of 1 x 6 under each tire. Keep some grease on the beam. They do not recommend grease but the trouble is, if you just use oil and the thing sits all winter without use, that oil dries off. Put a light coating of grease and then wipe that off before using it.
