I just purchased 3 tons of McFeeters, I had burned about three bags last year and was happy with their heat and ash. I also burned 7 or 8 bags of LaCretes that I really really like (next to no ash and hot). My local supplier has just added LaCretes and I am tempted to switch or mix up my order.

I am hoping some of you have more experience with McFeeters because I think it is comparable to the LaCretes.

They are available (in my area) at Aubuchon Hardware Stores from $250 /ton

I picked up a ton a week or so ago for shoulder season.

They seem to have storage issues....Check each bag thoroughly for wet/damaged pellets.
I had to return 12 bags. No problem swapping them out for good bags.

I went looking for them last spring, But nothing in my area. The place that was selling them(Agway) is now selling Power House instead. I was told they got to many complaints on the McFeeters was the reason they switched.

I didn't think they were all that bad. Just a bit dirtier than what I'm used to from a softy. Heat was pretty gosh darn good to me. Still looking for um to do a retest and a good long burn!

I think I will switch up my order and take 2 1.3 ton pallets of LaCretes and 1 ton of McFeeters or vice versa. If your ever up in southern ma jtakeman let me know, I be glad to give you a few bags to test

Love them

I had good luck with them. They seemed a little ashy, or the ash was just less dense so it seemed like a lot by volume. Either way the heat output seemed great for me. I bought 10 bags each of McFeeters and Okies and found them of similar quality, maybe MFs were a little worse. I clean my stove fairly often so higher ash really doesn't bother me. Put it this way, I didn't think the Okies were worth the added cost at the time. I have zero experience with LeCrete though.

Regardless, I generally err on the side of more diversity with my pellets, I like to compare.
