Man it feels like I haven't been on here in forever but ever since the weather changed I have been going like crazy! We have been camping every chance we get, kayaking, canoeing, and running white water. I I should really be splitting wood but I can't drag myself out to the splitter when it has been this gorgeous outside. Here a a couple of the snapshots we got on the last few trips out.

We had twelve of us go on a 15 mile kayak trip on Sunday and had a great time. Here are the yaks lined up and ready to go.

Everyone spacing out for the paddle

My wife and I pausing for a break after about 3 miles on the lake.

White Water trip on the Yough

Watching the white water kayaks getting ready to take off in the morning

Borrowed my parents canoe to take my daughter out for the weekend and ate lunch on the rock in the river.

I guess when the weather turns crappy I can always split wood.......;)

Certified, there is plenty of time for wood splitting in the winter, or at least the cooler months. You did the right thing!

Awesome! Get to the wood later.

The wood stack and fires will always need tending, but the young ones grow up quickly. Enjoy every minute with them you can.

What? People here actually have hobbies and interests besides working on their wood? ;) :)

Great pics . . . thanks for sharing.

Yep, you made the right call. You made memories. After a while, one stick of firewood starts to look like the next. No comparison....Play on.

Looks like a great spot.

I can't believe you are wearing a Dallas Cowboys hat.......o_O

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun, I love raftin on the Yough!

You guys are right the family memories are worth not being 5 or 6 years ahead  . Right now I am sitting on 3.5 years worth of heat but my daughter is finally getting to the point that she can go on these trips and she is loving it, so that coupled with the fact work slowed down for a few weeks and I could get some time off really let me get out on the water! I am trying to keep her interested in the paddling sports by keeping it fun and short for her but she is really starting to beg to go on the some of the longer trips now. I'm thinking by next spring I may get her one of the small youth kayaks you sit on top just to let her start getting the hang of the paddling.

Scotty, I admit I am wearing a Dallas Cowboys hat, sorry if it offends you ;). Do you make it to the Yough very often? We have been down there twice this year to go whitewater rafting and play with the kayaks on the middle and lower section of the river. I swear it's one of my favorite rivers and it's only about a 3-3.5 hour trip and an easy pull with the camper. The natural sandstone slides are so much fun to let the kids play around on and just hang out for a while. Maybe someday we will meet up in the Ohiopyle area. We usually camp at the state park.

Not at all, buddy. My best friend is a DIEHARD Cowboys fan. Some people you just can't reach...;)

We're around 2 hours away (northeast) of the Yough. We've been down a couple times, but now that the kids are getting bigger I think we'll be down more often. Did you guys go to the Wright house (Falling Waters)? Very cool! Yes, the natural slides and the whitewater itself are awesome there, maybe we'll meet up sometime down that way...

Yep, me too. 4 wheeling with my son granddaughter , and grandson. It doesn't get any better.

Awesome to see you are back at it! Are those Razr's? If so those things are awesome! My buddy has one and it is an absolute blast on the trails!
It always make me happy to see grandparents spending time with their grand kids. After having your own children you begin to realize just how awesome it is to be able to have your parents involved with your children's lives. Big Kudos to you!

Yes they are RZR's and they are a blast. A lot more fun than four wheelers and a lot safer. After my accident, and recovery, I just couldn't stop having fun. My son couldn't bring himself to ride the 4 wheelers after my accident and he traded his and Trent's in on a RZR. Well, as soon as I got released by the doctor, I did the same and well, you can see the results. Having fun with my kids!! And grand parenting is 10 times more fun than parenting;ex

Looks like a great time. Always need time for a vacation. Time to get away with the Wife and Kiddos.

Great times. Great memories. The wood can wait.... (enter song : "Let the Good times Roll"!)
