I was going for 1 ton on Saturday and the TSC had them on sale for 219 a ton. Other places around here are 269 for southern states (hamer), and 289 for turman. So at 219 and out of county where I don't have to pay the extra 3.5$ per ton tax. was about 231 a ton with sales tax...

I got 3 tons of Cheat River, 1 ton Nations choice, and 1 ton Old Dominion

I made a mistake because I wanted two tons old dominion but they snuck one in. I lost a bag somewhere so I have 249 bags stacked. My better half said we need more!!! gotta love that.

I may go back for another ton and would probably get Old Dominion.

I guess this makes me a pig again. The first year I got 3 tons, next year 4.5, this year 5 to start. I seem to use about 6 a seasion heating.

I'll post a pic tonight. I have three 75 bag stacks in the back of the garage and then a 25 bag stack. I have a free standing avalon astoria.

6 Tons is a lot to burn, especially in Virginia. I'm just south of you. Last year was my first year burning and I only burned about 75 bags. Of course the temps were above average all winter and I was generally heating about 1500 sq ft.

I've got just over 5 tons ready for this year.

How many sq feet you heating?

I am heating 3400 square feet, up on a ridge (not really a mountain but there is wind), 9 foot ceilings, and a 2 story foyer. The 4 bedrooms upstairs stay about 65. The stove is in the middle of the house which is great but in a room with a vaulted ceiling. Running the fan doesn't seem to help much. Also, my wife likes it warmer that we should keep it. Maybe this year she'll let me dial it down to 68 degrees or so. I am not using any other heat source.

OK, here are two pictures. One with a pink pool and one without. I couldn't get all of the short stack in. Broken/open bags are on top.

Good size stash. I always try to buy a year ahead of time we I can find a good deal. I have over 7 tons on hand and will buy a few tons to add to next year’s pile. Wife likes the saving on fuel oil, and so do I:cool:

I'd say you are doing awesome for being able to heat that large a space for that amount of pellets and in turn that low a cost compared to any other type of heat out there.
