I just lit my first fire of the season. It is my third season of full time burning, and I finally I have enough seasoned wood for at least two more. I'm excited to feel the difference. Any one else burning seasoned wood for the 1st time? Ken

Ken, congratulations on being ahead on your wood supply. There is a tremendous difference in how that stove performs once folks have good dry wood. It is one of the reasons we recommend being 3 years ahead on the wood supply. It really does make a big difference.

Dennis, Thank you, it has been your good advise that has driven me to CSS about 12 cords. I also have about 2 cords of white oak the will age 2+ years before it sees my Clydesdale. How do you like the Progress so far? Is it supperior to the Fireview? Thanks again, Ken

Thanks Ken. We ended up keeping the Fireview and cancelled the order on the Progress. I would have loved to have that stove and would love to play around with determining the best ways of burning. However, it would just be too much stove for us. We remodeled and also added insulation, new doors and windows then found that we can easily over heat with the Fireview! Imagine how hot we'd have been with the Progress. Open windows all winter long. ;lol

This morning my wife was talking about the Progress again. Not here words, but it amounted to me moving out to the barn with the stove and she'd keep the Fireview in the house.

Oh, I didn't know you had cancelled. I was suprised when you ordered it, because I know you've been very happy with the Fireview. I had added attic insulation last year(before burn season). Felt the difference from the 1st fire. A friend of mine delivers our oil, he thought we were buying from someone else. I had to bring him in to show what a modern wood insert can do. He was speachless. Ken

That had to be sweet bringing the oil man in to see the stove!

I know a few others were surprised when we ordered the stove. At the Open House last year we were there for 2 days. I debated those two days and really liked the looks of the Progress and would love to have it, but....

I think it scared him. Ken
