Today was damp and in the 50s with this evening reportedly heading to the 40s. Should be great hunting weather in the morning...but even better we are burning. :)

Shoulder season pine for now...have a couple cords that we will use until the weather gets really cold and then it we oak. Only running the one stove for now.

Yeah I started my second fire tonight with some ash and hickory. My daughter when she came home from drama practice looked in the window and said "what no fire yet?" lol.
Meanwhile I was outside unknowingly of my presents cause I hid myself behind the wood stack as I was splitting wood. Tried to sneak up on the wife and scare her but she
heard me coming up!@!!!! Prob shouldn't since she is pregnant. But she did scare me first so.......nah just kidding.
But since I did tell her I would have a fire I made fire good thing cause its 35 degrees out now. Nice and warm and I did have a enjoyable time with them this evening
Nothing like spending time with your kids around a warm wood stove, you know.....

Tomorrow starts the c/s/s.......

Kids and wife were all lined up on the hearth this evening getting warm. I went upstairs and changed into shorts. This time of year and frankly most of the year, the house it too hot for me. 75 degrees at least...which means I am in shorts. Wife and kids are comfortable at 77 degrees. Granted we have 14ft ceilings in the tv room, so it is not that hot where we...but still too much for me. Growing up in the north east, anything over 68 degrees was warm!

Wow wish I could get my hallway and bedrooms around that temp just checked it and its 69 degrees in the hallway. I would love the temps to be like that
But when you have a small stove trying to heat up 2000 + home that is a ranch style but done it last year. Just cant wait for a larger stove.....

Hope you had some good hunting. Although I did not shoot, I had the best day of hunting that I've had in years yesterday!

hasnt left the low 40's today and mid 30's tonight, plenty of rain and fog here in the mtns of wv. ive got a low slow burn going in my new progress hybrid with some junk wood. this stove is for sure a keeper. loaded it up pretty good last night with some dry red oak to see what it would do and my house hit 75 really quick. my wife was even saying it was too warm (never heard that). the wide range of heat variability of this stove is amazing, it can do it all!! low and slow or full blast blow you out of the house. we are happy! might have a glass of red wine and relax by the stove here in a bit.

cheers!
