So its obvious my chimney is too short. The entire chimney is only a bout 11' from where the woodstove enters the flue. The top of the chimney is clearly too low as well.

I Have a chimney liner I would like to install, But I would like to get the height issue fixed before doing so.

Does anyone have any experience with basic masonry? I would like to add the 2' or so I need to the top of the chimney, along with a nice looking stone or concrete top(like in the 3rd picture)

I have watched some videos, it doesn't look that hard. whata u guys think ? Will this increase my draft?

Two feet may help. How tall is the current flue? Another solution might be to add an extendaflue.

^ those things are absolutely HIDEOUS :p

I will go outside and meassure roughly now...

EDIT: from the top of wood stove UP to the flue, its roughly 18'' then another 11 feet to the top of the chimney MAX.

Is there a minimum requirement for chimney height?

It will look hideous you adding to that chimney if you are not able to match the bricks. You should be able to add a couple feet to that chimney but I would contact a mason to check everything out first and then see if you can source bricks that will match.

Every foot helps draft.

I found some bricks that I believe are from the same batch....or pretty damn close. I'm gonna pick up some motor mix @ lowes tonight. How many 80 lb bags do you guys think I'll need? I'm gona go up just about 2 feet, then add a concrete cap.
