So from what i have read, on these stoves and from the manufacturer, a thermostat will only adjust from 1 to 9.
Has anyone figured a way to stop and start this type of stove?
Also I noticed occasionally it vibrates, I assume the auger, any suggestions?
Thanks. Steve from vermont

when I had my Englander it functioned with my digital thermostat perfectly. Shutting off when heat was not needed and turning on automatically when heat was called for. I did burn through an ignitor in a year however....

It depends on the model. Some can go on-off with the thermostat and some can't. If its a Summers Heat SHP55-10 its one of the stoves that can only go hi-lo by the thermostat. The vibration could be an auger. How long does it last?
It will help other people to help you if you include the stove model in your posts. A lot of people put that information in thier signature. There are a lot of friendly, helpful folks in here. I've learned a lot from them! Welcome aboard and enjoy your stove!

Lucky you! Good deal, I wish I found a free England's stove for my garage.

On/Off with the thermostat depends on the model! Mine does not do On/Off.

You need to include more info, like the exact model you have. As mentioned above, some Englanders are only Hi-Lo stoves, while others can do both Hi-Lo and On-Off. The 1-9 on the control panel only changes the amount of pellets going into the burnpot and can only be done manually.....thermostat will not change that.

It doesn't have to be set to heat level 9 to be on a stat.

You can run it on Heat level 5 (or 6, 7, etc) but when the call for heat is met, it drops to level 1 (pilot/maintenance burn).

The level 9 is suggested in the manual. But can be set to whatever you desire.

That's like saying I "Have" to burn my Quadrafire on High when running on the stat? Nonsense.

Sorry the stove is:Summers Heat SHP55-10 and the manufactures rep did say it will only go 1-9. not on/off. The auger only does it on a sporadic time frame. i've cleaned the outside of the auger in the fure box. you maybe correct that it is a vibration. Just not sure how to cure it. it maybe the pellets. wish the made side panels to come off like us stove. doing any thing in the back of the stove wont be easy and they dont make quick disconnects from the stove itself. I put high temp rtv on that joint as recommended. any short cuts to diagmose the vibration would be great. Thanks.
