My first Maple?

Morning everyone.

Finally got around to getting this maple out this weekend after corn was picked. It came down almost 2 years agos during a winter storm.
Can someone tell me what kind of maple it is? I can get some more pics of splits if needed.

im no expert but im not sure thats maple...cant tell without pics of the splits..but id say hickory...looks like shagbark to me...those leaves couldnt have possibly come from that tree if its been down 2 years....another possiblity but hard to tell without seeing splits...would be white oak

we almost need a close-up of a cut round (end grain) and of a split to give you an answer. bark (from a distance like in the pictures) kinda looks like shagbark hickory. Did those leaves in your truck come from the tree you cut up?

Yep hard sugar maple. Looked too shaggy to be maple but its maple
 
Most definitely hard maple.
 
Thats good news. I needed a little bit more of a variety.
So next question, is this shoulder season wood like silver maple or better to save for the colder nights?
