Enviro empress FS:
What's more important when adjusting flame quality?
Having the combustion blower higher with the flute more closed or having the flute more open and combustion blower at a lower speed.
Thanks Andy

As far as flame quality it makes no difference, you balance the air to the fuel. As long as you can get the right air/fuel mixture as far as the fire is concerned there is no difference.

Snoop, On the Empress. Its best to set the stoves damper with a magnahelic gauge per manual. This makes sure you have it in the best range and Then use the combustion blower trim to tweak for different pellets. You can get them close by eye, But using the mag makes it really easy. Best possible balance of clean burn without wasting heat out the vent.

Sorry for the late reply... Thanks JT I do have a few questions. What is a good starting point when adjusting the damper... What level does the combustion motor speed have to be at 1-5? What feed rate 1-5? and what heat output level low or high? I will be using my magnahelic gauge.
Thanks A

Heat level 5, I'd use the default trim(combustion and feed) settings. I'm not sure what they are, But if you shutdown the stove and power it dowm(pull the plug) it will go to the trim default settings. Make sure you run the stove for a good half hour or more. It takes a while for it to settle out. After you set it run it for a bit more and check it again.

If you need more info, Its pretty much all in the manual or Service manual.
