This past spring I installed an Oslo and I've noticed there is side to side freeplay in the air control lever before it actually engages to open or close the air control. I would say this play is about a 1/2" of travel before it engages. Is this normal?

Mine is the same way. Was that way since new.

Yup, kind of a pain. Think your opening or closing a bit and actually doing nothing. I slide mine till I feel friction then proceed to move it to my desired distance.

That's normal. Its just clearance between the actuator rod and the sliding valve that you're moving. You can use a 10mm socket to remove the two bolts that holds the little doghouse on to gain access to the valve.

I installed 2 last week and they were both that way. My Oslo did that too, it's not a big deal, you will get used to it.

Mine has a little bit of play in it too, not quite a 1/2" but it's something you get used to over time

Thanks for the reply's. Sounds like a normal characteristic of the Oslo.

My Rangeley does the same thing. My OCD kicks in when ever I go to move the slider back or forth. I thought of maybe sticking a piece of fireproof material in the gap to eliminate that issue.
