Does anyone have the 1- 800 number or andy number for the quadrafire headquarters in OR? I want them to fax us a diagram of the P trap not illistrated in the installation manual. Unable to locate it in any of the brochures or their website.

they wont talk to you even if you did have it. They will tell you to call your dealer.
So call your dealer, have them call them and fax the stuff you need.
What exactly are you looking for? Maybe i can help. Last i checked toilets had P traps, not pellet stoves :)

Hearth and Home Technologies phone number in Colville is (509) 684-3745.

In manual it states to make a p trap. see diagram 4 B to prevent cold air from coming in the outside air kit when the unit is not in use. no diagram or instructions given.

They probably mean something like this" -u- ": if you connect the dashes to the top of the u it would be what you want. By making a downward bend in the pipe and then coming back up and maintaining you pipe then straight. This dip makes it harder for cold air to move. Wind will still get in though. Confusing description but I have no way to draw it.

I think I will have the same problem in a couple of weeks when my Quadrafire 7100 will be installed. I just downloaded the installation manual from their web site and noticed the exact same thing. The picture that is supposed to show how to create the air trap is missing.

Baroness,

what e-mail address did you use to contact Quadrafire? There is non listed on their website

Thanks BrotherBart.

You would think that as many times as they get that question they would include an errata sheet with the manuals.

On their website, under customer care, you can "ask a question", then they'll list you possible answers, under all that they ask "did this help you?" & you can choose to have a customer rep contact you. Then you fill out the online form, where you can ask the question, and they'll email you back. I know, it's kind of a hassle. They really ought to just list their email addy & phone #. But, like I said, they emailed me back right away and answered all my questions. Hope that helps!:)

I got a response from them. Here is what they say:

"The "P" trap just refers to a trap for cold air. If your exterior
termination of the combustion air kit is at the same level or above the
level of the connection at the fireplace, simply put a "loop" in the
duct so that the highest part of this is lower than the lowest part of
the general run of the duct - a "P" on its face, so to speak. If this
termination is below, no "P" trap is needed."

Have a nice day.
