I removed the jumper from the control board, hooked up the thermostat wires, connected to a Lux ltx9100u-006 thermostat. Plugged the stove back in, raised the set point and heard the thermo click, stove did not start??? I tried raising and lowering the the set temp, and stove just sat there off. I pushed the start button, and stove started as usuall, let it run for 20-25 mins then lowered the set point back down thermo clicked off, and stove continued to run. I eventually unhooked the wires from the thermo no change, shouldn't the stove shut down with no jumper connection made?

What am I missing here? Is there a mode I have to access on the stove? or? Anybody else have this stove on a thermostat (or any englander with the same control board) what am I doing wrong?

Is the stove set to H/L for high/low or O/O for on/off?

Pretty sure its in on/off (factory settings). Out of couriousity what would that matter? It didn't go into low when the thermo stopped calling for heat if thats what you're thinking. It's like the thermostat isn't even there.

Anyone know how the stove is supposed to act without the jumper in place?

After the stat "clicks" to indicate it no longer needs heat, it takes the control board a minute or two to start the shut down cycle....it doesn't happen instantly. I'm guessing this delay is built-in to make sure the stat isn't calling for heat.....mine does the same thing.

It ran for 10-15 min after the stat stopped calling for heat, it ran even after I unhooked the wires from the thermostat. It behaves exactly like the jumper is still there, so???

Well, 10-15 min is way too long. I'd try turning the stove off and back on, and see if the stat will start the stove. I had a similar issue the first time I used a stat on my 10-cpm, but it works perfectly ever since.

If you can't get it figured out, I'd give Englander Tech a call....they'll get you fixed-up. Or maybe Mike H. will see this thread and respond.

I would check to make sure that it is in On-Off mode, I know the factory default setting is O-O but my PAH arrived set in High-Low. I bought mine as a factory second from AmFm Energy, maybe that had something to do with it. When in H-L the stove will not light itself with the call for heat, even after switching to O-O mode you have to press the On button to power up the board so it can look for the call for heat from the thermostat. If there is no call for heat the on light will come on and the heat setting and blower setting will be displayed for a few seconds and then go out when the board drops in to a standby mode.

Are you SURE it's in On-Off???? If you're not, try changing it to see what mode it's in.

If it's currently in On-Off, when you change it the reading should change to H-L. If it comes on as O-O, then it was in H-L to begin with, and that's why the stove continued to run after stat stopped calling for heat.

Stove was in high/low, my fault for not checking that, still didnt seem to go into low when the call for heat was met, but I did have it running on setting 4 so not a huge drop down to one.... I did put it into on/off, restarted it, and let it run for 1/2 hr or so, turned the stat down and the stove continued to run so??? That was last night, and no chance to mess with it tonight, maybe this weekend...

How long did you let it go before manually shutting it off? Like I said above, it usually takes a minute or 2 before control board starts the shut down after stat stops calling for heat.

You might want to unplug stove, plug back in, and wait for display to go blank. Then, with stat set to low temp, push "on" button once or twice until green light stays on. Then turn stat up and it should start.

Just wanted to say thanks, stove is now running off the thermostat. Not exactly sure what is different now, only thing I really did different was to make sure the stat was NOT calling for heat when I plugged the stove back in, then hit the on button, let the board go into standby mode then turned the thermostat up. Working great now.
