I set the stove on 1 and 3 last night when I went to bed to keep the chill out of the house overnight and so it wasn't cold in the morning. It lit fine and am pretty sure it was still running at 12 something when I woke up ( I can see the glow from the fire down the hallway). Got up this a.m. at 6 and it was out and was stone cold. There are no error messages showing up. It is over half full of pellets. I cleaned it out the day before yesterday and only ran it that night and it ran fine.

My hubby is gone til Friday night, but is there anything I can check on my own?

Thanks! and I'm thankful it was only in the high 40's last night so the house isn't cold this morning.

Could possibly be that pellets got stuck and blocked the chute that the pellets come down so the pellets cannot feed into the pot. I say this because you say it was working fine. To me that means you probably don't have a blockage due to a dirty stove.
Check the chute the pellets come down. If it is a block, you shouold get a bunch of pellets all at once into the pot when you relieve the blockage.

the burn pot is full of pellets, that leads me to believe its not a blockage right? I wish I was awake when it shut down so I could know what it was doing at the time.

Then that's a little different. If you have unburnt pellets in the pot, then something happened that it could not sustain the burn, which would possibly be a lack of oxygen so given that you had a pot of pellets then maybe it is a blockage. Either way I would check the stove out for blockages and give it a good cleaning first before you get into possible mechanical failures.

There are others here that are much, much more knowledgeable that I that will be along soon enough.

No its not on a thermostat, and they were unburned, at least on top. I have to head out now but will check back later. Thanks!!!

Was there any error code on the control panel?

It's possible that there was a temporary blockage or jam of pellets that prevented the pot from staying lit....after the fire got too low, the new pellets suffocted the existing embers.

Burning on very low settings is tough anyway. BTW, any idea what the bottom button settings are? Press each button and report back with what you see.

No error code that I'm aware of. Would it have still been on the panel well after it shut down? Or is there a way to check?
The bottom numbers are set at 2 4 1, When I talked to Mike last year he said those numbers were fine and we ran with them set on that all last year.

This happened to me once in my previous stove. The pellets get stuck on the sides, the auger emptys itself, fire dies down then the pellets fall and the auger starts pulling pellets back up. by this time the fire has gone out and by the time the auger reprimes and starts to drop pellets theres is no fire to ignite the pellets and the stove shuts down with pellets in the pot.

How long are your pellets? I agree with most of the rest of the replies, I think it's something keeping the pellets from feeding normally.

a low fuel feed of 2 may be ok as long as the pellets currently being used arent a bit longer on average than the opnes previously used. the description as i see it is a "starve/smother" where the fire did not keep enough fuel to stya lit and went out then new pelets came in and covered the coals without actually relighting off of them, raise the LFF up to 3 and see if this doesnt cure the problem

Thanks Mike! If it happens again I'll bump it up to 3. So glad to have all this great help on the forum.

Im still not sure why there was no error code. Shouldnt there have been an e1?

not for this , it simply lost the fire due to not getting enough fuel to sustain. the control board would view the loss of heat as "out of fuel" which just drops ya into shutdown with no error
