Jotul used cement to seal the manifold to the air inlet. Should I use regular stove cement?. Also, what should I use between the 2 manifold pieces? Whatever they used looked white, as opposed to the cement they used on the end of the manifold which is gray. Some of the excess whitish cement they used fell in the manifold when assembled and looked almost like it had the consistency of glue or silicone before it hardened.

I have a tube of Rutland gasket sealer and cement, but I think it may be to drippy to use to attache the manifold to the back wall. Maybe for between the manifold?

From what I can figure I could cement and set the top half of the manifold in place with the screw. Then put whatever sealer is recommended on the inside of the bottom half of the manifold, lather the end with cement, hold the tubes up in place and slide it on in there. I will have to do a mock up to make sure it all jibes. Could use a third hand or two with the tubes I guess!

The furnace cement in a tub is thick like clay compared to the tube stuff which is more like toothpaste.
