So the missus calls me last week end, "Hey, remember the very first pallet of pellets you ever bought?", i say "of course dear, just like I remember our first date!!!",, she laughs, (gutterally), and says "well, they have them on sale at Sam's, but we don't need any more right?",,,,,,I pause and she asks if I was still there, I answer "weeeeeeelllllll, they were my all time favorites of all the pellets I've EVER had",,,,,,now she pauses and says "I know, I know, so I bought and paid for a pallet, you just need to get the truck down here to pick them up",,,,,,,,wow what a woman,,,,,,

PS,,,,, married to her for 30 wonderful years today, 10/16/2012!!!!!

congratulations, sounds like she looks after you!

Congrats!! She got you pellets now what are you getting her;?

Congrats and Happy Anniversary!!!!

The penningtons I got last spring were like library pencils and would not feed worth a hoot in the bixby and would put the flame in Santa Fe all over the place. Check em out quick. They had offered them for $3 but would not work for me.

Bio,
I have them in line as the last of 4 pallets accumulated this year, I don't think I'll actually get to them any time soon,if at all this season. I hope they are as good as I remember, been about 4 years......Maybe I should break open the pallet and grab a few bags off of it,,,,,

I know there had been some problems with some of thier pellets(I think they just bag em)as someone incorporated cardboard one time. Wish I could remember the info link . I am good for this season with four tons and probably ton or so corn. I know they show up at Walmart-Sams up here kinda late.

Happy Anniversary

Maybe doesn't want any pigs sniffing around:)

We have those for sale here, but they are for sale as single bags and very costly. I hope you don't spoil a fond memory. These may not pan out to be the pellets you bought so long ago.
Congrats on the anniversary. Ours is this month also. #43

Pennington (Natures Heat) are only sold at Wal-Mart around here. The last 2 years, they have been sub par and pretty long...
They make a 100% Oak pellet also thats a little better. IMO.

I would do a spot check.

Happy anniversary. Even if there a shoulder pellet, her effort is more than most would make. :) (Keeper)

After reading these posts last night and getting it into my head that these Pennington's may not be like I remembered them, I came downstairs, and asked the Mrs., whose name is on the Sam's card,(she got it through her brother's business), " hey". I said, " I can only get into Sam's to buy stuff if your with me, right?",,,,, very long pause with that look they give you ----head a little down, eyes looking at you over her glasses----and she says "your have a desease, you know that don't you?"

Yeah, it's called pelletitise I think,,,,,, no cure,,,,,,,,

I picked up a bunch of bags last year (my first year of burning pellets) and found them to be incredibly looooong! Nature's Heat Pellets 001 375x281.jpg

BUT . . . Pennington refunded all my money, including the cost of sending them a few sample pellets. I still have the bags and make the kids break them up now and then. When they are short enough they provide good heat at a decent (but not great) price.

RKS130 yours are a third shorter than the two bags I sampled. I think most of the 2 truckloads that were at the store went to boiler operaters with larger augers. Good for them I guess.

JM, qwas at the dickson city Sam's. $3.99/bag....$199.50/ton

So after all of the reports on super long pellets,on saturday I make an excuse to be driving buy the local Sam's wiht my wife and daughter and ask if there was anything they needed in there, of course there was, so we get in and they see me grabbing one of those big flat carts and both say in unison "You've got to be kidding, right?",,, i smoked and proceeded to get 10 bags of the Penningtons, just to see how long they are and how they will act in the Englander.
I bring them home, open 2 bags and run them through the fines vacuum,,,, pellets seem not long at all, actually shorter than the Green Supremes I got saddled with last year. I will get them in the stove as soon as the hopper is empty and test them for ash and heat.
