Is there much pricing difference between stove shops for Harman Stoves?

Looking at getting the Accentra with insert, and the faux log set. With installation, I have a quote of about 4800-5k. Looking at Harman's site, the Accentra MRSP's for 3599. Am I potentially going to find a place giving me the same thing for say 4500 installed or are most of the dealers pretty close to each other on pricing?

Thanks!

Pricing is usually suggested retail. I don't think they have gotten in to the regional pricing game. Pretty much every stove I see(besides the boxstore brands) is MSRP. So in the heat of the season some dealers will stretch it out a bit. You may get a better break if you bring cash money?

I just purchase a Harman P43 a week ago. ....I found as much as a $700. difference between authorized Harman dealers. I live in Orange County New York.

I can save you $95 right off the top anywhere you go...don't get the log set. PITA every time you want to clean.

From my recent experience, most Harman dealers reflex to MSRP. However, after further investigation of dealers in the greater area (Truckee, Tahoe, Reno), some were willing to remove approximately 10-15% from MSRP. Worth shopping around. But service and support is king. So, make a selection based on all facets

Yes. I saved about $100 by paying with cash.

So far all 4 Harman deals I've visited have the same price on the P68 ($3879). Install labor has varied from ~$500 up to $1200. Pricing on tubing, elbows, etc are all fairly close to each other from what I've seen. Northwest Philly suburbs. What I found weird was one place said they don't have to charge sales tax since its something being installed into the house, the other has ~$300 in tax. Gotta ask the other place about that. The one place I asked said no discount if I pay with cash even though it would clearly save them money by paying with cash.

I originally was looking at getting a p38+ and the prices i were quoted were 2350-2700 so there is a little room in the prices. I would think that the more you spend the more room there is since the p38+ is one of if not the cheapest stove Harman offers.

I purchased a Harman Accentra insert last year here in CT and was able to save a few hundred dollars. I found two place that had good customer service (recommendations) and then got their best prices. I mentioned one to the other and I saved some cash. I don't think they took anything off the stove, but they found the savings with the install costs and materials. I was fortunate enough that a couple places had a good reputation so that I could price shop a bit.

Your lucy to have a close Harman dealer let alone two. 150 mile drive for me. You would think that Minnesota would have a dealer west of the missippi.Only thing I need for my older pc45 is a door handle assembly and the the dealer admitted the $59 is twice what it should be. Trying to figure somehow to get a handle back on the bolt that sticks out without welding something on the stub!?

agreed with Scott- it sits in front of the fire as well, impeding the owner from easily doing her/his weekly scraping of the burnpot.....also accumulates ash, messing with the air wash system.....

Cash is king! Harman dealers have to stay in the area of the MSRP. They can bend on the price of venting and installation, up to an including "free". I have found that dealers also have different ideas and policy on service and warranty work. I know if you get the stove, install, and buy your pellets from me I can work with you on cleaning cost and service calls. Since some of my surrounding dealers drop the ball on service and warranty work I can stay busy with them but my customers always come first. Do your homework and shop around. Harman still a $100 coupon available on line.

Rob you never answered where you were at but this is the best advertised deal going right now if your close to central PA. 100 bucks off and free pellets. If your installing it yourself thats about 350 off msrp plus whatever haggling you can do.

dont agree necessarily.........it really depends on what they are selling the stove itself for......figure your out-of-pocket for this before you determine its a great deal.....
