Heading to Mass next week. I was there 2 weeks ago and saw Heartland Pellets at the local Lowes - I think they were 4.38/bag. They are a pellet I can't get here in Maine. Has anyone burned them this year? Would you pay 4.38/bag or are they just shoulder material? Thinking of picking up a dozen or so bags - variety is the spice of life afterall.

yep heartlands are excellent. the ones from Spearfish SD anyway.

That is good news. The bad news (for me) is that I won't be in Mass until Wednesday. For this reason, I won't be giving anymore details on the Heartland stash until Thursday for fear that OMV will snipe them. Sorry OMV, but you seem to have a...."reputation".

LOL. Thats good stuff.!!! (The post, not the Green Supremes)

We got some here in Oregon back in about 1994.
Lovely pine pellets that burned fabulous, made the house smell good too.

We got them from Home Depot back then. have never seen them again out here.

hi caribfan.are you sure they were heartland and not hearthside.completely different pellet.i agree that the heartland are awsome but they are selling locally @$385 for a 60 bag skid.wouldnt want to see ya gey stuck with multiple tons of a pellet that will probably not burn anywhere near as hot or as clean as what you were expecting.if it was a red and white bag then those are the Heartside not the Hearthlands

Damn. It was a red and white bag. I knew it was probably too good be to true. I just took a quick glance as I was more interested in the green teams at the time. The clerk told me all pellets were the same price and I thought that it would be a good chance to try green team at a decent price because they are much higher up here. Unforturnately the clerk was wrong. Hey OMV, does the previous offer still stand? I'll be down Wednesday.

NOT my impression of Hearthsides . i'd bought 6 bags weeks ago and wish i could get more . they burnt very clean for me and very good heat .

i'd definitely recommend people try them .

cheers Woody

Good pellets but sold only at LP Adams Lumber co. around here and they charge $315 delivered.
At that price I`d run the oil furnace instead. There`s a tipping point and $315 per ton exceeds it for me.

They were at the Lowes in Lowell. I had to spend a couple of days there for work and stopped in check their selection. I will probably still try a dozen bags just for fun if they are still there next week

ive never tried heartside so i cant offer an opinion.hearthland is a greeeat pellet.like i said im glad you didnt already make the purchase expecting them to perform as a super premium pellet.now having said that ,they may still do so for you in your stove.just lettin ya know they are not hearthland

you got a couple of out of place words there woody :) you saying you are recommending hearthside at HD ?

sorry , 'twas a busy day getting ready for "Sandy" but yes , i definitely recommend anyone that finds Hearthsides to buy a few bags and give them a try .

i was pleasantly surprised .
