Sad to see Pete's thread locked before I got a chance to post so here is a new thread the mods can lock.

Pete, you are welcome to come for a cord of wood anytime. In fact, I have some wood I'd like moved before next spring and there is around a cord there. It is yours if you want it.

That Dennis is a class act if I ever saw one......

Pete, if I didn't live so far away, you'd be welcome to a couple cords from me, too. I gots plenty.

I would consider, if I were you, a trail cam hidden somewhere so you could catch that azzhole in the act of his theft. Sure would be a good feeling to knock on his face (er, I mean his door) and show him the pictures of him in the act. What a piece of chit.......I have no time at all for theives, especially taking someone's hard work that they did to provide for their family. That really pizzes me off....

Dennis, nobody's gonna lock up a thread so long as the thread participants are being civil with one another. Rick

Dennis you and Judy have been so good to us already that for my piece of mind I would have to pay or trade labor. We would appreciate the wood however. There is a gentleman in town here who is offering me red and white oak for 40 face cord so we may get some of that as well. It's a real steal for oak. We looked into a trail cam but don't really have anywhere to put it where it won't be stolen. Crime isn't a big issue around here other than our firewood twice now. The trail cam would need to be very well hidden so I guess we will have to think on that yet.

Thanks guys

Pete

Rick, I figured that was the case.

Pete, if you don't want to take the wood that is cut, split and stacked (from 2010, mostly ash) then you can come and cut your own....after deer season. Yes, that is a good price on oak.

As for the trail cam, do I remember a tree nearby? Can we mount one in the tree?

There is a large walnut back there however I am not sure where to mount the cam so it wont be visible but then I guess if your not looking for it... What did yours cost Dennis ? I looked and they where around $90 range. If that is the case I may borrow yours for now.

Well I don't want to turn down wood but I also dont want to take any after all the work you put into it css cuz of my stupid conscience ;lol If it doesnt bother you then I suppose it does not bother me lol. Thanks Dennis you now I love ash!

I'll be over and we'll look at that tree. $90 is pretty much the low end for cost. I have more than one so we'll get one up and ready soon.

If u get a trail can make sure it's infrared and not flash. They are more discrete

So I missed that thread, how much wood was stolen?

I've found that building a birdhouse around the camera tends to camouflage it somewhat. Better yet hang up two houses, one as a decoy.
Sorry about the loss to thieves, I know how that feels. Good luck!

I didn't see the thread where your wood was stolen, but I have a picture in my mind what happened. This is unfortunate, but for every bad thing that happens, there its an angel nearby, and this angel is a good man, even though he splits vertical on a crate! ;) be well

Lotsa firewood over this way too pete. How far are you from Woodland MI. ? I've got access to plenty of Beech tops in that area that would burn soon if not now. I can haul 2 cord easy on my trailer if that helps any. PM me or just post back here if I can be of help. A C

Could ya bring me a trailer load?

Always knew Dennis was a class act . . .

And Pete . . . I too hate thieves . . . any thieves . . . but especially thieves that are messing with you staying warm this winter.

So I missed that thread, how much wood was stolen?

As of right now It looks like 1.75 full cords of my property and 3 months ago 4 cords off my stacks at my fathers house. It just makes me sick ! I was not happy about the 4 cords but it was salvageable now that the last 1.75 have been stolen I have to start from scratch again.

Wow that is terrible, sorry to hear that.

Way to go Dennis.

Many hours of hard work in our firewood.
We feel the pain & anger ;)

It's like a true brotherhood here.....sorry to hear about the theft, the person must be real desperate to keep his family warm this winter....it may not be your normal everyday thief, just someone who is falling on hard times....not trying to justify (no justice in stealing), just trying to understand why someone would do such a thing
