I have a wood burning insert. My dad, who is approaching 70, just downsized to a small ranch-style house in RI. About 1200 sf. Nice fireplace/hearth area to put a pellet insert. The house has oil heat which is not cheap. I need advice on good pellet inserts. He tends to buy cheap stuff that doesn't last. I love the Quadra-fire insert, I think its the Santa Fe. But at $4k, I don't think he will go for it. Any good suggestions around the $2000 price point?

Hey, thanks for the reply. I have told him about Englander / Timber Ridge, since a lot of the wood burners on the site are very happy with the product. That being said, the whole reconditioned thing might be right up his alley. Thanks.
