Wow I'm sorry to hear that Pete, that's horrible that people don't respect other people's property in this day and age! And to steal someone's wood after all that hard work really sucks! Lucky there is some amazing people here on the forums and I'm a firm believer in Karma so what goes around comes around. Good Luck Pete and I hope you catch them....

Well, yeah, but we do have some really special sisters in our "hood" as well.
Yes....forgive me for the oversight

Stealing another man's firewood is very low. You're not just stealing wood, but a man's hard labor and time. Lot's of sweat and aching muscles trying to get ahead on your supply. I hope justice is done. Sorry about your loss.

Spray the top rows with some of that paint that shows under black lite. If its being Sold, they'll prolly be back- if not this yr -- next. They may even have it stacked in their front yard with a sign on it.

or how they know when to do it. its not like dash and grab. it took some time, i hates people like that.

sorry for your loss. A real low life is the only kind to do that. At that point, you stealing something that a man has worked hard to obtain and process into burnable splits. Bad mojo taking something like that. Perhaps a new plan as far as stacking and keeping it secure is in order, or, stack new wood as it was but get the thief with the trail cam. Sorry!

Very sorry to hear about your hard work being stolen...I have lost a good amout of wood to thieves in the past. It great to see others on this site willing to help you out...Kudos to those guys.

Sorry to hear that - hope you get the guy safely and have a warm winter. Good on ya to those helping out.

Sorry to hear that Pete...

i missed the original post...sorry to hear that happened to u pete....i like to think bad things will come to people like that...but thats not always the case as it seems...all u can do as a good person is keep doing the right thing..i do believe good things happen to good people..i hope u catch the bastards..and beer belly i doubt that is the case..im sure he probably stole it to sell it...most that steal a nice stihl chainsaw isnt because they dont have a saw to cut the firewood to keep their family warm..its with intentions to sell the saw.

thats a lot of wood to go missing and a lot of wasted work = dont get mad get even cut another stack and get one nice piece of wood drill a hole in it and fill with gun powder :), sit back wait for wood to go missing again and wait for the big bang = you will then know who was pinching the stuff = just look for the house thats suddenly dissapeard over night from your local area ....:);lol just joking about the gun powder i stress dont do that , but it stinks when people do just take other peoples property often its not the property value that hurts its the dissrespect the thives have towards the person thay steal from ... cheers

Just read the other thread, Very sorry to hear Pete. I would definitely set up that cam maybe even leave some easy wood out as bait.

That critical post in the original thread: Those are the kind of people that could really care less about what happens to others, they just need to belittle others to feel better about themselves.

Pete, PM me your info and let me know what sporting goods store is close, I'll send a gift card to help aid in the camera's purchase.

To MWG, I hope you are reading this, and I hope you are not in need of advice or otherwise on this forum. REMEMBER Karma is a sunovabich (yes, it's misssspelled)

Thanks to all of you guys it is really a good forum like a family ! I have made many friends here and even made some outside of the forum through the forum. Thank you all very very much!

I have calmed down at the particular forum member truth be told had I not just had more wood stolen and gotten angry it would not have mattered to me at all. It takes a lot to tick me off most of the time. Sometimes I lose it and make enemies but I guess if I don't make enemies as well as friends I am not living life right. As my father would say if you don't stand up for something sometime what good are you!

Pete

They stole a Chainsaw ???....I thought it was wood only ???

Sorry to hear about the theft Pete, I believe karma has a way of evening things out, they'll get theirs one way or another.

Not that I would do this but someone could drill a hole in the end grain of a few pieces and load with you favorite long rifle round; then you kind of chuckle when you find wood missing from your pile. Ok, I was Combat Engineer in the Army so it is their fault for teaching about booby-traps... Disclaimer - don't do it.

Lotsa firewood over this way too pete. How far are you from Woodland MI. ? I've got access to plenty of Beech tops in that area that would burn soon if not now. I can haul 2 cord easy on my trailer if that helps any. PM me or just post back here if I can be of help. A C

Okay AC you are hitting me in my backyard now!:) Born and raised in Woodland, went to school there and run a business there and you are getting my beech tops?;)

Drop a name or a road to me has to be west or north of Woodland. Anything else is walnut or boxelder!

Gary

Let me know if you need any help on hauling stuff to Pallet Pete.

I've found that building a birdhouse around the camera tends to camouflage it somewhat. Better yet hang up two houses, one as a decoy.
Sorry about the loss to thieves, I know how that feels. Good luck!

Good idea flatlandr. I've been toying with an idea similar to that.

Friend of mine from church, 1 mile north of Jordan road on Woodland road. The plan is to take 6-8 of us out there, & cut 4-6 cord for another church member that had a major surgery, we're gonna csd & stack that batch. I figured if Pete wants to help us there, the least I could do is run back over, reload & drop a load off to him in exchange for the help. Seems like it might work out for everybody? If you need more info, PM me, this could be a fun GTG. A C

Could ya bring me a trailer load?

Careful what ya ask for, I've been known to do some pretty impulsive things on occasion Rick. :) A C

For some reason, my dog is a huge woodpile guard dog.
She is nice as could be, but bark/growls at anyone who goes near the stacks.

It is a good deterrent.

I also share a driveway with "that crazy guy in town" which helps a lot too. We don't even get trick-or-treaters or Jehovah Witnesses at my place.

Wait a minute . . . that's probably just what everyone tells you . . . what you don't realize is that they're thinking the other guy is perfectly normal . . . but the guy with the huge stacks of firewood is off his rocker! ;) :)
