After a few kind words the stove is drafting better that is good cause the power is going crazy.

Still sluggish but burning. May have a little damp wood.

This may sound like a real newb question but, Does burning in high winds burn your wood up faster?

If it increases the draft, and pulls more air through the stove, making it run hotter, then yes.
