It is 68 ::Fhere! Not complaining. Saving on wood again this year. What is the temp where you are?

We hit 67 today. Stove has not been lit at all yet.

65 degrees here. To date I have burned about a half of what I normally burn in Oct. It sure would be nice to keep saving at this pace for another month or so. It's sort of like someone stopping by and adding another cord to my stacks!

Had a 1/2 cord set to be used through Oct., but I still have about 1/2 of that left. I did get into a bit of the Maple too, but not much.
LONG winter still ahead, so no happy dance just yet.
I've been hoping to have between one to one and 1/3 cord left by spring out of the 6 cord I put in the shed.
Spring will tell.
Oh, right now, we're sitting at 35::F..

Looks like the high today will be 39 and very wet.

Like PapaDave, we haven't burned much yet but we do keep the house well above that 68 degrees. I just looked and it is right now at 76 indoors.

May get to 34° today. Windy : 25 MPH, 40 MPH gusts.
About average on wood consumption for the year.
Has been a bit warmer than last winter so far.

You know threads like this will kick us in the butt. As we enjoy (hold on let me look) 66 degree late October days all of a sudden wham! winter shows up and fall is left behind. But for now, lets enjoy it while we can. At least Sandy is gone

I think we may have been in the low 60's....but the lady of the house preffers 70*+

Pretty warm up here as well -- temp right now is low 60s . . . heck, it's been a pretty warm fall so far . . . considering last year at this time we had freezing temps and a snowstorrm on the way (although overall last winter was pretty mild.)

Mohmh, If you don't keep that fire nice and warm it (they) may bite you in the butt. ;lol It looks like those two in your avatar may partly rule the roost. ;)

Im at 56 now, just about every day is right on the edge on whether or not I should bother to get the stove going, I wish it would just get cold and get it over with so I can light it up for the next 5-6 months :)

I here that. I am ready for some colder temps.

Its been in the upper 60s for a few days...Sandy pulled alot of cooler air down to me. Temps are climbing again...cant bring myself to burn yet, its just not been cold enough for me. House hasnt had any heat on and it never got below 67 in the house. Trying to save as much wood as I can so I can stay far ahead...

Low 50's all week mid 30 's at nite been burning a little, but not much.

Slightly different here as we are at 93 (34 Celsius) ==c but falling down to a lowly 80 by the weekend......sounds like splitting weather to me.

It has been to warm most days for work in the woods. I am still waiting for all the bugs to be gone. Wife pulled a tick off one of the dogs the other day. It was full! As my youngest one would say. "That's discustin!" ;sick

Now that Sandy has showed up been 40* day and night for 3 days and windy, fire feels good. Even had alittle snow and 6" of rain. Have been real lucky disaster all around.

Burned about half the wood I had planned for October - would love for the cold to stay away for another few weeks. Still have a few chunks and uglies but they'll be gone soon enough.

50's in daytime and the mid 20's over night. I am burning small loads of chunk to take the chill off in the mornings. We have had 1 snowstorm that brought us 4.5" of snow and that night it got down to 18 which is pretty normal for us this time of year.

You guys get an early winter in the rockies dont you? I suppose it depends on your elevation too.

Sometimes we do. I live at 8,500 feet.I am pretty optimistic that we will have a few more nice days up here before winter really sets in. Denver has much warmer temps this time of year and will be close to 70 on the 31st.

Doing my conversion from C to F its 41 and raining hard in the east kootenays! Not sure how I like my poly covering on the wood pile. I need the snow back to hold it down. It was nice to have a small cold spell here last week where it played winter for a week or so and everything was frozen. Our snow is pretty much gone and my lawn has gotten soft. Hope all you out east are staying safe!

Pushing the 90s last week, we were running the AC early in the week, then a freeze over the weekend. Looking to the mid 80s later in the week. Lows are dipping into the 30s over night. We'll light a fire in the mornings to knock the chill off but that's about it so far.

Hasn't been bad in NH yet - burning at most a small load per day in the morning to take the chill out of the house. Earlier October was cooler than the second half I think - I've burned all of my chunks and uglies - now I'm into about a 1/2 cord of 3 year old small oak rounds - doesn't take many to get a nice hot fire. Should have plenty for another couple of weeks - haven't pulled a stick out of the 5 cord in the barn set aside for winter. I think I'm burning about normal though. Cheers!
