Hello,

Anyone try Maine Wood Pellets?
Good or Bad?
How did they burn?
Lots of ash ?
How was it cleaning the stove after burning these pellets?

Your Harman will burn anything as long as its dry.
I have used these pellets...the heat was fine....the only thing for me was they seem to dirty my insert sooner than most.
If I use them,i do a complete clean every 2 weeks or so....during the winter, others i can go 3 or alittle more.
But for the price...tough to beat. I have tried Spruce Pointes....and didnt notice a heat difference, but at 300 per ton...not worth it for me.
I know of people that only use this pellet and are happy with it

I've been burning MWP softies. Too much ash for my liking.

Mongo I have been burning MWP hardwood so far this season at $197 a ton. They are to me anyway a pellet for weather like now that is fairly mild 30-40 deg F. at night.
They are ashy. When the weather turns cold I wil burn a better pellet, for more heat and less cleaning. Again for $197 a ton not bad in my opinion.

Bought three tons of them last year and found them to be the best for the money. I tried a few bags of several different types and MWP is what I liked the best. Bought 5 tons this year and have burned through about 12 bags so far with same results as last year. I also bought a ton of MWP softies to try. For the cost of the MWP I don't think I will try anything else. My P68 just loves them......

I like em. I like em a lot. WAY less ash than the other main Maine offering. My glass stays much cleaner BUT the grey haze that does get on there is somewhat tough to get off.

I've been burning them. More ash then some. But the heat is good for the price. No complaints. My P-68 eats them like chiklets candy.
Yup same here. Bought a ton of the MWP softwoods and 3 tons of the blend. Been burning them for the last 3 years. The price vs heat output vs ash.....I will buy them again next year. Ash: I have to empty the ash pan every 4-6 weeks when burning 24/7. I can live with that.

I think Harman stoves are like the Honey Badger. Don't care and will eat anything!

Posted this before but is a bit funny.

It seems like people with Harman's (including myself) tend to like them better than people with other stoves. And at $177/ton at HD with Military discount, there isn't anything else out there in Maine that I care to burn.

Yup. Love my Harman. While others are wondering about how good a pellet is going to be in their stove, I wonder if I should get up and get a beer or try to get the wife to bring one to me!

I have burned MWP, for $190-$220 per ton I would buy again. Wouldn't pay much more than that though, but I wouldn't pay that much more for any pellet.

My thoughts exactly.

Just whatever you do, don't buy Maine's Choice. My stove gets dirty fast and there are a LOT of clinkers to chip out on a weekly basis. Not to mention you need to burn more of these pellets to get the same level of heat you get from other brands of a better quality./

This is my first year burning and for the price, I can live with cleaning a little more often. Heat was decent.

I have not burned Maines Choice in over a year but it sounds like they may have made a turn for the worse. They were great for me. No clinkers real good heat and average ash. Guess that's why we try before we buy
