A dad and Grandpa to my Aunt, cousins recently passed, within the past 6 month, and I thought this was a good story to tell here...

While Grandpa was alive, they had talked about a certain tree that was about ready to come down. Dead and standing, this tree had been in the sights of Grandpa to come down. While he was alive, and albeit a short time since they had first started talking about it, he did not see that tree come down. His health had been fading, and he passed this past spring.

Not long after his passing, it was decided that it was ready to take the tree down. As the tree was felled and cut into rounds, the picture below was quickly discovered...fitting enough, of Grandpa pleased with the tree finally coming down.

Neat.

Very nice story, something special to remember Grandpa's tree by.

I agree. Keep a couple of those splits. You'll always enjoy telling the story.

Good stuff wood-row!

Great story! Reminds me of my grandpop and his apple tree! Thanks for that.
