Looking for a little help fellas..... My stove goes thru its auto start with no problems. The unit burns well for about 10 mins, then the flame starts to get yellow, flickers and black soot starts forming. The stove continues to feed pellets and the burn pot starts filling up.Burn pot fills with a thick smoke hiding the pellts below. I notice as this happens the combustion motor is slowing down to a very slow speed. If i shut the power down and start it back up, the blower kicks up to a faster speed and smoke clears going back to a nice burn, only to repeat after 4-5 mins. Once it gets up to a good operating temp the blower motor slows down. Wondering why the motor slows down, causing bad draft once it gets hot..... any ideas would be appreciated. BTW.....i have no manual to help me with trouble shooting this stove....:)

The combustion motor uses a run/start capacitor to keep the motor running. At low RPMS (during start up) the voltage to the motor is not enough to spin it fast enough. Replace the capacitor. Should be a couple bucks at an electronics store.

OK..... i will give that a try and report back.....Thanks.

Ok....found what i believe is the capacitor....mounted in the back by auger motor. It has a 12mm bolt on the back side holding it in place. After removing it from its mount , looking at it , a plastic cover on the end with the wires going into it does not seem like it is removable... possible a factory part ? Also you said it uses the capacitor for start up and run. It does spin fast at start up and continues to run at a high speed only to slow down once stove comes to operating temp. That would lead me to believe the capacitor is working .As a test this morning i let it run its course, it eventually overfilled the burn pot with pellets...still burning just a weak fire. I also put my hand over the intake air supply to see what would happen, no change. Wondering if it could be a faulty....failing air sensor? Not douting expertise ....just making sure i have descibed the problem correctly :)

Update.....it seemed like i had a defective air sensor due to the fact that when the door was opened the combustion motor failed to increase in speed and pellets kept feeding. Ordered a new air sensor and installed. Same problem, after unit is up and running well it cuts the combustion fan down to too low of speed. Only thing different is it does speed up when you open door, but pellets continue to feed. Checked motor voltages all in the proper range during test except when it comes to final run it is at around 30 v i think it should be at 40v . This problem started when i lost power....possible power surge....maybe damaged the control board and air sensor at the same time.....stupid me should have had a surge protector on it. Any more thoughts would be appreciated.

OK....up and running again. After a little research found out you can ajust the speed of the combustion motor on the control panel. Maxed out the setting and now the motor runs faster allowing enough air to have a good burn. Not sure why it ran fine then all of a sudden it developed this problem, but it is running better now than it ever has. Keeping my fingers crossed ==c
