Even if I have to let it dry till next year, it sounds good.
What do you think ??
Seasoned firewood-full cords - $30
Seasoned hardwood tree tops from logging. Oak, Maple, Beech and ash all sold by full cord. 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet. You cut and haul from wood lot. Several hundred cords available.

if i were looking to beef up my 2014/15 stash i would be all over that

We are always ragging on the CL ads, this one sounds pretty good!

Craigslist is your best friend ! We hit it up all winter long and get loads of firewood from CL. I have cut tree tops up before and it is an excellent way to get firewood.

Price sounds good, sounds like a bit of work though. "Tree tops" means branchy twisted wood and if they're thrown on top of eachother...
I'd still check it out.

Worth a look, IMO. Price sounds pretty fair, I'd say if its good hardwood, go check it out and see if its not going to be brutal to get out of the location.

The only bad thing is there is no phone number, I just sent an email.
Some people just don't respond to emails, whats up with that.

Check this out , They are selling a lot of stuff, but they have wood listed, I emailed them three days ago
I assume they were intending to burn this in the wood burner they are also selling

Foreclosure Scheduled for November 14th
My home is scheduled for foreclosure on November 14th. I am NOT going to let the bank have any of the items that I can easily sell
3) Cut, split, seasoned hardwood firewood. $100 per FULL cord!

That's what I figured , I would check it out first, before I pack tools and hook up trailer, and its only about 8 mi away

Sounds like they are in a hurry to get out, offer them 75 bucks and see what he says. Tell him you'll buy all he has and I'm betting he'll take your offer.

Hundred bucks for a full cord cut ans split is still a heck of a deal.

The offer of $30 to cut a cord of wood sounds like your paying $30 to cut up your cord of wood. That seems high to me, weather its tops piles of logs or standing in the woods? If it was primo 12" diameter stuff easy to get to i may pay it. But otherwise unless i had no other access to wood i would not pay that.

Keep in mind that logging tops can be completely miserable to get out of the woods. They are usually down logging roads barely passable by a skidder, laying on the sides of ravines, and are almost all brush. I would not get your hopes too high, but it is certainly worth checking out.

Id maybe offer $50 for the full cords, Ive bought quite a few cords that way and the most Ive paid is $75, unless someone else contacted him the woods going to rot on the land after the bank takes it.

Yup. Check it out. I have a hard time finding good scrounges around here. Lots of wood burners I guess. But I have found some good deals on CL. I usually pay for what I find their, but it is a good price.

Even at $30 it will pay to at least have a look. Only 8 miles away means not too much travel time. Make sure you can get the wood out! Many times at this time of the year the woods are wet and that can be a problem. Also, make sure what kind of wood you are buying. It should be good wood for that price (around here $25 is more the norm) so if some is marginal, then the price should come down.

Another thought comes to mind and that is the foreclosure. Does that affect the woodlot? If so, you could get into some trouble. Be sure to check it all.

This looks like one of the adds from early this year year where he was selling them for 10 a face cord but you had to pay for 10 cord.
Is this over on Baldwin Rd

Also it is only around 5 miles from me if this is the same one. He had someone cut over a 100 full cords our of the woods last year and then he was trying to sell tree tops and down trees. Seemed like a good deal but I ran out of time to do it before he had to start farming.

Cost me between 35-40 dollars a cord for free wood. Now add 30.00 bucks and where at 90.00 cord and me doing at-least half the work. I would be thinking hard about 150.00 stacked and hope i dont burn my lips on my coffee. ;)

Thanks ,every one for the input.
I'm kinda new to some of this, In the past I didn't burn all the time,I scrounged a little, but mostly bought the wood , split and delivered.
So I definitely must have a look see first.
I got email back about the tree tops ,and it says, Please call my brother Roy to arrange a time to meet and see the firewood.

It doesn't look like the foreclosure, person is going to respond,IDK

Do you mean, the 35-40 dollars a cord for free wood, is gas ,time, processing etc.??

Close to $80 for me. 2hrs round trip driving time, gas, equipment wear & tear/maintenance etc -100% of the work myself. But I wouldnt have it any other way,its better than any gym membership.

I could easily burn more than $30 worth of gas in my truck to go cut free wood. $30 a cord close to home sounds like a deal.

Yes I do and thats also paying a helper 8.00 an hour. Longest cord split and stacked for me 5:45 min. Fastest 3:15 hrs. I stay under 10 miles from the house and truck trailer and splitter must be able to set next to the tree. If one thing does not line up with that I walk.
