Hi I just recently got an englander 25 pdvc I think c it's the 1500 sqf one. Anyway it was working great until the temp got a little cooler up here in ct, now at night on the low setting the temperature falls to much. So I hooked up a thermostat and its is definitly controlling the feed rate but the blower seems to be in a high speed and staying there I thought the thermostat would turn the feed rate and blower to low setting when it wasn't calling for heat. Or did I do something g wrong? Thanks for any tips you might have

Thanks everything I've read says I should keep both at 9 but the blower at nine is a little loud would it hurt much if I turned it down a couple settings

The cfm of the distr. blower on that stove is`t that powerful anyway so I always have mine running full spd.

I believe the our manual says not to have the blower lower than the heat setting.

Yea it does but I've found by reading in these forums the manual says a lot of stuff that dosent tend to be normal practice. Can't hurt to ask right?

i hate that phrase, and have been lobbying to get it removed from our manuals. look, set the heat range and blower speed at what works best for your application. only caveat to this is that you do not set the blower speed at a lower range than the heat range. this could cause the unit to overheat and shut down. other than that, try a little "t and e" (trial and error) to find the parameters which best meet your heating needs.

Is this a new or used stove?

If the heat seems a little low, can you please tell us what readings you get when you press the bottom 3 buttons (from left to right)?

Sure right now with green teams I have it at 5 5 1 and its not low all the time just when I wake up on particularly cold nights but during the day its too hot that's why I did the stat I'm just trying to get the wrinkles ironed out before we really get into winter if I bring the feed rate below 5 it almost goes out and re lights which cause it to burn dirty for those few minutes nothing that I can smell but you can see it smoke inside the stove its logical to me that the cleaner the burn the cleaner the smoke pipes and all will stay

That setting should be pretty good, although I'm surprised it goes out with that setting. Maybe too much burn air....try 5-4-1.

Set the heat and blower at 5-5 at night before going to bed. The stat should be programmed to turn stove down at bed time, and go back up an hour or so before you get up. I get up at 5:45 each morning for work, and the stove is set to start giving heat at around 5 am....by the time I'm out of the shower & dressed, the LR & kitchen are pretty comfortable.

Then, stat takes stove back down as I leave, and back up at around 3:45 PM before returning home.

BTW, you didn't answer whether the stove is new or used.

Oo yea it was new but it was a left over from last year it was in the box brand new just a year old and it doesn't go out at a 5 feed rate but it does at 4 Ive tried different combos with a 4 feed rate and always goes out at lowest setting

1. Are the pellets getting all burned up and then the stove goes out, or
2. are the pellets piling-up and smothering the burning ones?

Condition #1 needs the LBA lowered a tad, and condition #2 needs the opposite.

Yea the pellets are being burned up leaving embers and as soon as the new ones hit they start to relight. Exhaust goes straight out of the wall then there's the clean out tee then goes up the side of the house for about 7 ft then I used 2 45s and 12in piece to go around my soffit the just another one ft piece and the turn out at the top

Hi Dale. Welcome!

Is your pipe 3" or 4"?
