does anyone know when harman came out with the esp? im looking to buy a 7 year old Harman Accentra. the seller is asking $2000 but i wondering if its worth looking at. Any info would help tremendously. thank you in advance.

Thats kinda high for that year of stove. What year is it? Mine is an 06 and I paid $600. I would be asking for a better deal.

The seller said it was either an 05 or 06. so you dont think its worth it?

Its in the eye of the beholder...but you can spend $1200 or so and have a new stove with newer drive system, control board, and a warranty..but offer them a lower price and see...

Yes ive found out that its tough when your on a budget, to buy a decent long lasting pellet stove. if i had the cash i would definitely buy new. But i definitely wont pay his asking price. ill probly offer him a low price and see if he takes it. i wont pay more than say $1500 or $1600. Thank you Lineman30.

ok sorry ( i feel bad now ) but you have harman owners and others attention on the other thread already. Everyone is here to help ;) Nicer to keep it going on one thread easier to look back and see all your needs and concerns
Thank You "oldmountvernon" for your concern. Dont feel bad i expected to make mistakes when i started! Next time ill keep everything one thread... Thanks everyone i been on here only a couple hours and got tons of help already!! :)

That price seems very high. But prices are regional in nature. Just because its cold out they think sometimes that they will hook a sucker. Shoot em a lower offer. I think of stoves like cars, loose alot at first then pretty steady loss for several years. 25 to 35 percent loss moving out of the store. Non transferable warranty sucks.

I live in Harman country but that price is crazy. Accentra is a sharp looking stove but i wouldnt go over 1200 for it. Theres always a used stove for sale.

2k is nuts unless it has little or no use and even then it is a stretch unless it looks like new inside and out. I would say 1500.00 is top end awesome condition and 600 low end.

I agree with the others in that $2k is way too high. Not sure when Harman came out with the ESP but I'm sure that stove has it.

It's a different look but you could ALMOST get a brand new P38 for that price.

I have and am using an 1989 Pellet pro 2...it uses ESP...so they've been using them since their inception I believe.

On the data plate the upper back of the stove.

Well its been a great running stove. Not really having problems but it never shutting down on room temp/Auto. Have talked to techs and harman reps and they say probably ESP related. But it being 7 years old and never being replaced wouldnt hurt to change out. In the process in changing it and ran into a diffent size ESP than whats on the stove. Also, remember when you buying older versions there is older technology. I.E. Control board. I've borrowed a new control from a dealer and it having different software installed than whats on mine I can tell it works different. Like it actually shutting down on room temp/auto. I'm replacing the ESP and seeing if it really is the problem with the older board.

I recently purchased a used Accentra for $1700. Cleaned her up, repainted the inside and out. Lubed lots of parts. Vacuumed out the dreaded fines catcher in the back of the stove; about 1/3 full of fines. And I am almost ready to fire her up. Anyone know where I can pick up a OAK adapter for this strange sized outlet? Looks like 2.5 inches? Maybe can go to 3 and run out through that.

The Harman OAK uses a 2.375 outside diameter pipe on the stove. Harman dealers carry Harman specific flex tubing that is pretty costy. Use 2.5 ID & crimp it with a hose clamp...

I think you did the right thing, OP, the P43 puts out marginally more heat with the same features (other than looks)....at its new, with a warranty, no chain drive, has the ultralight feeder......IMHO, $2k is way too high for an accentra of that age.....I'd put its value at more like$1k-$1.2k for an end user.

I just used 3 inch ID alum flex and i crimped it down to make it fit snug and it goes around the the OAK fitting just great. Might have to move the wiring harness a little...
