Am I the only one who's tempted to skip family festivities tomorrow to get out into the woods?

Are you married?

No, the wife and I both liked the idea of skipping in the name of getting wood:). Fire wood!

Ya know what? I don't think I feel too good, I may have to stay home.

I live down the road from my parents. I'm pretty sure I'd get busted. Good idea though :)

It is going to be really nice here. I'd rather cut wood than what I will be doing.

71 here today,lo 60's tommorow,38-40 for Fri. & Sat. Highs in lo-mid 30's until middle of next week,30% chance of snow Monday night. Yeah....I'd rather be in the woods.Might do some cutting Saturday if schedule works out.

Visiting with family. Eating extra heavy tomorrow, cause I know I'll be burning it off in the woods on friday and saturday. "Black Friday" for woman, and "Black Locust Friday" for men. Be well

My wife and I have hosted Thanksgiving dinner for six out of the last seven years, including most recently when we had 31 family and friends over for a harvest party this past Labor Day weekend. Grilled lamb, BBQ chicken and bison pot roast were the entree's.

Not a soul has invited us in return. I think we are going to get out for a motorcycle ride, and then go out for Chinese.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Cheers!

You are not the only one by a long shot, but I am happy to report that there is a medication that makes family events more enjoyable. It's called Beer.

What tomorrow? Isn't it go out in the woods day?!

Ain't NO WAY I'm missing out on turkey dinner with all the fixins......wife worked her butt off all day, we're going over to mom and dads for dinner (it's a whopping 200 yards down the lane).

Morning I'll be getting ready to do stonework on the fireplace. After dinner and my traditional turkey nap, I'll be back out there prepping for stonework. Will be hanging stone on Friday.

You havent met my in laws, Jack Daniels is needed in my case. I dont see why you cant cut wood in the morning and join the family for dinner later, you gotta eat and you gotta cut wood, do both, thats my plan.

Funny your thinking about this. I was trying to figure it out if I had enough time to fit in a couple hours of cutting between breakfast and dinner. I don't need any wood for myself but I have a friend I promised some to and I know it won't take but a couple hours to fill the trailer. I'm not splitting it, I'm letting him take my splitter. I just like getting out there and working with wood. I've worked so much leading up to this holiday I need a little therapy.

I have to work for a couple of hours this morning, but I am hoping the cut a least one load of wood b4 going to my sister's house for dinner.

I will be in the woods hunting before we have our Thanksgiving dinner.

The problem I have is even while hunting I'm constantly evaluating my woodlot to see what trees need to be cut next. Not sure of the cure or if I really want one I just enjoy being in the woods.

I might mess with getting some wood rounded up and ready for the next two weeks, here in a couple of hours. But not doing to much, just too tired works schedule has been very hectic here in the last 8 months. Just very glad that I got ahead in the wood department, and I dont have to really worry about it for a long time. Just have to bring it to the house and to that I owe that all to Dennis and my other firewood brothers on getting ahead of the game. Happy Thanksgivings everyone.

I got all the rounds ready to go. The brother-in-laws and nephews and sons will all pitch in a little and we will split and stack a bunch
Then its turkey dinner and some football. I don't get a turrkey nap like Scottyboy. It will be 65 degrees ans sunny today. Looking forward to it
