Sorry if this is a dup post, I thought I hit the post button but never saw it show up...

I mentioned in an earlier thread that I had some wood that had some shrooms growing on it after being in a shady spot in my yard, so I split it and was wondering if it looks ok.

It's got some water lines through it and it's a little "spongy", but I'd say mostly hard. What do you think?

I think your post was moved to the wood shed forum.

I just cut up a fallen tree that looks just like that one. Some good wood, some slightly rotten wood. I'll stack this and cover it, and it will be fine next year. If it si solid enough to split, rather than crumble, then it is good in my opinion.

May be ok for a shoulder season burn.

Yep..i'd use this for shoulder season burning or to geta fire going . Definately aint gonna burn overnight:)

the mushrooms on it ain't gonna make any difference. If it's dry, it will do.
