I burned about 3/4 face cord of ash/ walnut and replaced it with a face and a half of red/white oak. I will be buying Black Locust after Christmas.

I've burned 2/3 of a cord and I have cut 2 cords so I am ahead of the game.

I'm a bit over a cord... but I've been learning a new stove this year (Englander 30 which replaced a huge 'smoke dragon').

Also, I've been burning less desirable but dry willow with bits of oak mixed in. It's been the only heat source so far this year.

I have 2-3 cords of rounds of black locust to replace it with.

I figured everyone has burned about a cord so far. Has everyone replaced what they have burned ?

What?! No way a cord of wood yet. It hasn't even been cold yet! As for how much burned, it isn't even enough to measure yet. Check back in a month.

So far about a half cord of soft maple replaced with about 1.5 cords of ash and 1 cord of honey locust. Its my first year burning my own seasoned wood and I am loving it. Thanks to all for all the info I have learned here.

How warm do you keep the main level. We're happy if we're above 65f. Doesn't take much.

Probably a bit over 2/3 cord so far, and more than half was pine/spruce. It burned quick, but did it's intended job.
Working on the soft maple right now, then the fun begins....OAK.
ETA: Started Sept. 18th here and there, so we've been burning for a while. Normal start is last week of Sept.

Dimensional lumber cutoffs only so far & I don't even keep track of how much of that I go through (freebies). Actually, last week I did dig into a few real oak splits (courtesy of Red Oak's 'housewarming ==c ' gift last year).

Just under 1/2 a cord. Mostly oddball ends and pieces so was glad and somewhat eager to get rid of those. I'm ~4yrs ahead and a neighbor across the street is clearing more of his acreage and asked last week if I wanted some free oak and madrone. That's like asking a frat boy if he wants free beer. ;lol

About half a cord so far, mostly of chunks and uglies. Replaced it with over 3 cords courtesy of Sandy.

Maybe 2/3-3/4 of a face cord burned so far. I've brought in about a cord so far. I'm having problems with my wood hauling truck so I'm a little limited yet. I should have it back in working order and be able to get serious about cutting and hauling in a week or two.

A little under half a cord of mostly silver maple so far. Starting to burn a mix of red oak and some weird yellow wood with medium density and perpendicular lines in the grain like maple but has thin bark like poplar. Anyway it is colder than last year so far and I hope it is a cold winter. I have replaced with a cord of red oak and a bit shy of a cord of white oak. Next will be hickory, maybe 2 cord thanks to Sandy.

Haven't burn the first stick yet. We have a passive solar home and only light the wood stove if there's no sun and it's cold out. On a cold but sunny day, we just enjoy the free heat from the sun.

Tomorrow will be the first day this season that meets our burning criteria.

Used maybe 1/4 cord so far. It hasn't been replaced yet- have been putting too many hours in at work for woodgetting. Shorter daylight hours limit scrounging to weekends also. Dangit.

'bout 1/2 cord burned so far, too busy going deer hunting ...armed bird watching to replace much.

About half a face cord so far. I've CSS almost 2 face cord since Sep.

We are under average temps for all of November so I have burned 2/3 of a cord. Irritating to watch it go that soon. Usually we use the electric radiators more in November. That wood savings from last season has now gone up the chimney.

And wet snow is due around five in the morning.

Not too much here yet, less than a half cord made up of pine and elm.
