Hi Randy I used to have a Hearthstone II.Maybe I can answer some of your concerns about the stove. What are they?If I can find the old manual you can have it.

I just purchased the Hearthstone II today, and need a manual to know how to operate, clean, repair or replace parts. New to the woodstove experience. Thanks
Tom

I read on page 9 of the manual for the Hearthstone 2 and it talks about what to to do for the first fire but it does not talk about what to do on a yearly basis. I know something needs to be done to draw the moisture out of the stones but is it the same process as the first fire. A chimney swept already came out before the seasonal break in was done. Will another call need to be made to a sweep after the break in fires are done because of the creosote possibilities with the low tempature fires? I have never burned this stove how would I know if it has the coal conversion kit installed? Does anyone happen to know if I would be able to convert it to a coal stove now? Thank you!

that hearthstone is an excellent stove nice heat output with less than perfect wood. first fire of the year should be some kindling and maybe 1 or 2 smalls splits then let it die out. then u should be good to go. we had one about 7 years ago that i got for free wasnt the prettiest but kept our house nice and toasty.
