To dry

I sell about 20 cords a year. I stack by the face cord as most people that buy that's what they can haul in there truck. Yesterday a guy pulls in and wants a full cord. I have some wood that has been CSS for almost 2 years and some for 9 months. I show him the 2 year stuff and say it is good and dry and will burn good. He looks at me and said that wood is to dry and buys the other stuff. Said he was burning in a small wood stove.

I told him its your money take what you want

Most of the wood I sell is ash and elm. Now that I heat with wood I keep the oak and hard maple for my self. I usually am out of wood by now but the last couple of years we have cleared a bunch of fence rows so I had cut a lot more than normal. Most of my customers are repeat and I charge the same price for seasoned or green. It's unusual for me to have wood leftover from year to year but last year I didn't get some moved up to the house to sell so this year it was the first I brought up but the majority of the people keep buying what I just stack.
