Hey guys, I've been reading the posts here for a couple of months and decided to go with a pellet stove in my new addition. I installed a Vistaflame VF-100 free standing. I have owned wood stoves for most of my life and know little to nothing about pellet stoves except what I've been reading here.

My issue:

During the initial set up of the stove I pulled out an insert that talks about setting the slider damper limits with 2 collars using a Magnahelic gauge. Now I consider myself a fairly intelligent guy but I've never even heard of a Magnahelic gauge. The instructions say to set the slider at 0.12"W.C. for the firebox vacuum. I looked up what the gauge is and purchased one but I have no idea where to take the measurement from. The Stove Shop I bought it at hasn't called me back in two days and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I don't want to start the stove without being able to set the damper correctly.

Any information would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

There should be a hole into the fire box that is frequently plugged by a screw, your installation instructions should tell you where it is.

The gage should have a hose that has a hollow metal end to it, this goes into the hole.

i believe that stove is the same as the meridian i had.hole was at front of stove below the door

It was hidden pretty well and there was no indication of it in the book but I found it, thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it. Here it is in all it's glory. DSCN7142.JPG

Beautiful Hearth... Beautiful Stove .... Welcome to the Forum :)

Is there an Approved Surge protector on that stove ;)

I want one!

VF100 is the EF3 with different stickers. (the louvre is different too)

To the OP, that is a nice looking set up, love the tile and stonework as a backdrop.

Ha Ha, there is an approved surge protector. Haven't figured out yet what to do with that cord though.

Is it possible to add a receptacle in floor behind stove - an all metal box and cover with approved wire insulation?
I like the idea of feeding said box with a remote s-protector & bat-backup.
